RE: Activity: Norfolk Southern #856

Jake,I sent you an e-mail, I guess you didn't get it. I'll copy it here for you.I tried to run this activity and it will not load due to the following problems;

“…route database is version 21 – the activity is based on version 39…” I’ve had this message before with other activities & routes with no problems.“ action event refers to a deleted or invalid siding”“ SAP10 player, path ‘SAP10 Player’ setup after load failed”“SAP10 Capital Limited path ‘SAP10 East End traffic’ setup after load failed”I know you put a lot of work into this and I’m looking forward to running it, so I hope you can tell me what is work and how to fix it. Also I didn’t get the 856_02.apk file in the download for the USA1A. Thanks so much.Mike

Ok, I am pretty sure I know what is wrong here. Build 21 would be the very first version of Sandpatch without the two patches, right? The two patches add a lot of sidings and some interactive objects to the route. Go to www.mapleleaftracks.com, and download the patches to bring your copy of Sandpatch up to version 1.02. Then you should be able to unpack and run it successfully.

Jake,Sorry, I should have wrote back. It's great! Though the Sd40's are alittle 'slippery' with the snow, but it's a challenge. I'm at the point of running with all the cars. Thanks again.Mike

Jake,I'm a little lost at Rockwood. I can't find the North Rockwood Siding. I bring my train to a stop at the reverse point, then I back up, but that doesn't seem right. I know I'm to reverse the power at the wye and pick up another SD40-2. Is the engine up on the leg of the wye also? Please help, I'm having brain freeze! Thanks.

LOL, ok, there is a siding North of the wye in Rockwood, when you get to the reverse point, you head end should have already passed it. The only purpose of the reverse point is to change the direction of the path.What I did was leave the UP helper on the mainline south of the siding, pull into the siding, leave the train, and then pull forward with my power, reverse, and run back alongside the train. I then coupled to my helper engine, and comtinued to run south. I then turned my power on the wye, and picked up the other engine which is in Rockwood yard. Instructions for getting past the stop signal by the station are in the operation notes file that is included with the activity.Anyway, after you get back to the siding, drop of the helper and it's radio car north of the Siding, then go back south, reverse into the siding, and couple to the train, then back up and couple to the helper and radio car. After that, you are ready to head south, and remember to cross over onto the west track on the crossover south of Rockwood station.

RE: Activity: Norfolk Southern #856

Jake,I've turned the power and hooked back up to my train, moving through Rockwood the other way, I had a red signal now green by milepost 225 and switching over to the other track. I saved there, 'honey do' time now, LOL. This is going great! You made up a fine activity, lots of operation. Thanks.Mike
