Have any of you had any experience with the new Nvidia drivers running GeForce 3 boards?I have a GeForce 3 Ti2000 board and up until recently I was running the then latest Nvidia drivers and DirectX 8 with Windows 2000 Pro. It was a very sweet running system and I was very happy. A couple weeks ago, however, I installed the new Nvidia drivers (43.45) and at the same time ungraded to DirectX 9.Everything looked good, but when I ran MSTS I thought noticed a drop in frame rate of seemed to be roughly 10-15%. After a week or so of expermenting between my older configuration (Luckily, I Ghosted my system prior to the upgrade and it's a 5 minute job to switch from one to the other), I'm convinced that the older drivers and DirectX 8 runs faster than the new configuration by approximately 10% (Nothing else changed - that I know of).Has anybody else had any experience like this? I suppose now I ought to see if it's caused by the new drivers or by DirectX 9 running on my older board. Hmmm, maybe it's time to upgrade to something better - Hey Honey! Can I talk to you a minute? YOu know that new dress you saw in the mall the other evening - - - - -.

RE: Performance aspects of new Nvidia Drivers

I'm currently using the Detonator 43.45 drivers with DirectX 9a on my GeForce 3 TI200 card running Windows XP Pro. This combination is giving me the best performance and image quality that I've had so far. (I change my drivers via www.Guru3D.com very frequently to try new ones.) All this points up is the fact that every system is very different, what's good on one may not be optimal for another.

RE: Performance aspects of new Nvidia Drivers

I've got to agree that every system is different.
I'm running a Geforce 3 Ti200 with older drivers.
Every time I upgrade to newer drivers, something seems to suffer.
So I decided....."If it ain't broke, don't fix it".(AMD XP 1700, 768 Ram, Win 98 SE, Direct X 8)
