MSTS Central Valley Route Instructions (Word .doc file). Very minimal instructions on how to install the Central Valley Route.IS there any way that these 3 .zip files be smaller than what it says? I am on a 56k Modem and to download a 277MB file will take approx. 3-4 weeks! Is there any way that some of the files be compressed into smaller .zip files for dial-up users?Dave H

RE: Central Valley Route

Routes are big, there's simply no way around it. These files are as compressed as they are going to get. The real question is which files do you actually need for this route? There's quite a collection of Central Valleys files over the past few days and no clear information on whether you need some or all or what.

RE: Central Valley Route

And if he does that Dave those of us with broadband will be yelling at him over the royal pain in the a$$ that 300mb in 1mb files poses for us....
Not to mention the pain in the a$$ it is to the guy chopping up the files...My suggestion to you guys w/o broadband is to cultivate a friend that has it and get them to download any of these huge files and burn them to CD for you....Chuck Schneider

RE: Central Valley Route

There appear to be 14 files that make up the Central Route. The 277mb file is the complete route and the other 13 are smaller pieces for those with dialup ISPs.RegardsEric

RE: Central Valley Route

Gentlemen,******* please read my last two post in route builder section under obrian111I do apologize for the large size, but there is a trade off in everything, (i.e. you want a large scenic but good fps route, gotta pay)and I do understand why the GMO is so large, because my route connects Enocell's, that is like having two large routes. no way around it. As the kind gentlemen mentioned earlier, it was laborious task breaking these dang texture and shape files to smaller ones, I hope that not one file wasn't left out....but please read my post in route builders, it is a must......please read.......been working on it since Aug, went through my pregnacy of crashes, send dont send and labor pains, about ready to give birth, thanks Eric for constructing the maps , u are a wonderful addition to the team, maybe u could consider uploading them.....Thanks a million
