I just got finished installing a zip file named 'NSSD40-2.zip', from God knows where---although I'm thinking Justin Cornell at the moment---as a download site, and I can't get it to appear in the game. I've checked it with Conbuilder and everything was fine---although oddly enough, the program complained about duplicate engines from Sandpatch, which I installed last night. The SD40-2 is aliased to the default SD40-2 sound and cabview, and it's got a consist or two available for examination and appears in the Conbuilder list, but not in my locomotive list inside the game. I don't immediately notice anything being wrong with the setup of it, so what am I overlooking?

OK, after checking some other zip files from the same downloading run, I've found that none of them show up. They're all Justin Cornell engines, and just flat don't show up. At this point, I'd kind of like it if someone else would be willing to take a look at one of the zips to see what, if anything, I'm missing. Thanks.

I've found that ConBuilder sometimes messes up the case of folder, eng, or wag names, resulting in the behaviour you're seeing. I'd go to the consist file and check the eng file and folder entries letter by letter. You could also try creating a consist using the *shudder* default consist editor (the one attached to the activity editor) and see if that works.Rob.
After some tinkering, I've managed to get it to give me an "Error Reading Train Database File in ...\SD402ns\nsSD40-2.eng" so I'm getting somewhere. I think you're right; there's some sort of error somewhere in these ENG files or something; now I've just got to run it down.Augh.
