Hi guysI already have MSTS installed on a seperate partition (G)which has several added routes and trains etc.I would like to install an additional original copy on drive C but the install disc only wants to point at drive G. How can I achieve my goal? Running windows XP home. Thanks in anticipationFrank
You can change the installation target, but it's not that obvious. I forget what you click to do this, but I know you can as I got mine to go to a non-default drive.Just try fiddling around with all the options in the install.Hope it helps!----------------------------------------FORMERLY 'THE KOZIOL' BEFORE THE STUPID DELETED ACCOUNTS DISASTERAL QAEDA IS SUSPECTED
Hi KoziolI agree that the original install procedure gives you the option of selecting a specific drive but I am talking of the problem when I try to put an additional version on the rig. The MSTS CD only sees the existing installation and the options to change the drive letter don't seem to be available!Frank
Yes, if you already have MSTS installed, it does not give you the option to install it anywhere else. I think if you rename it, it does not help, as the Registry still points to where the original version is.I installed MSTS on D: then just copied it to C: Once copied you can delete any engines/routes you do not need on C:Mike
I agree with Mike,I have five copies of Trainsim, for each major group of countries, and they are all copied directly from the master copy, with the engine routes etc deleted.I then either go into the trainsim directory to click the Train.exe, or set a shortcut on the desktop leading to that directory.
