Ladies and Gentelmen, I am having a problem with the Editor, it will not allow me to choose the "take other exit" option. I have done this successfully in the past. It has only been since I installed the Polish Route that this problem has come up. (Please no Polish Jokes,it's a Great route & we are a Proud People) Thanks in advance. Mike the Yank
> (Please no Polish Jokes,it's a Great route & we are a Proud People) I have Polish/Welsh ancestry, and It's been my experience (From my relatives) that nobody knows more Polish jokes than a Pole! I was offended by Polish jokes for years until my great uncle (who didn't speak much english) told me that if we can't laugh at ourselves, who can we laugh at?No help with your RE problem, but thought I'd share that. -Jeff
Its the activity editor not the route editor thats the problem. After building a 250 mile roue I think I found every quirk in the route editor, but that is another story. This is a similer problem but it may work for you. I take NO responsibility if you make a mistake and blow up your computer.2. "RE: Placed consists are gone! Help!" In response to message #1
go to your registry (regedit) and find ae_normal_view delete that and then restart your msts, should see all consists, etc. again. As I said this may work, I dont know. Check in the activity forum. Mike
They've stopped the shipment of Polish beer here in the city. Don't know why, but I as sure as hell am mad. Anyway it might be a good idea to save any of the files that you delete if you choose to use the option above. I learned that the hard way. My consists didn't show up on my activity editor, so I went under "regedit" and deleted the files (without saving them just in case). Sure it worked, but again after a while the same thing happened. Used the same method as before (regedit) and this time I could'nt fix it. There were no files. I guess the sim never generated the AI files. Had to re-install the sim. Steve.
Thanks, I'll try this. Not to sound to dense, but where do I find "regedit" to do this. Oh yes I backed up my Trains Folder BTW I like a good Polish Joke to.
To go to regedit click Start Button > Run and type regedit in the box and click OK and you will be in the registry. The FIRST thing you do when you are in there is highlight My Computer, click File > Export and save a copy of the registry for when it all goes wrong.Bill
On the top taskbar click on "view". At the bottom of the drop down list is "path points". Make sure this is checked on. The only other thing I can think of, is that your consist may be positioned too close to the switch.
Although you are finding the problem in the Activity editor, the fix may actually be in the route editor. First of all, on the AE map, in the area where you are trying to change the exit path, do you see any extra black "dots" that don't belong there? Also, have you recently worked on track in that area?A couple days ago, I accidently deleted a section of double track. When I replaced it, I failed to notice that one end didn't connect. I went into the activity editor expecting to find some broken paths, which I did. When I went to rebuild them, I found the same problem you described. My path would go up to a certain point and then I couldn't go any farther. Then I noticed two black dots that werent supposed to be there. I went back to the route editor and found that one end of that double-track section was slightly higher than the connecting piece. I lowered it to match heights, it connected, and the black dots were gone.
