If MS/Kuju - likely in co-operation with a 3d party - was to release an 'official' add-on for MSTS, containing both extra routes and rolling stock and add-ons for the default routes and stock, what'd you like to see the most?My 'wishlist':1. A US 1930 steam route (for example Horseshoe curve) with all the goodies - heavyweight passenger cars, mix of wood and steel freight cars and cabooses, you name it2. A modern-day continental-Europe non-electric route, with the possibility to run both mainline passenger, branch-line passenger, local freight and switching duties. Rolling stock would include passenger DMUs, diesel freight and switching locos.3. A modern-day Japanese electric Shinkansen route - giving us a REAL high-speed route at lastFor the default Hisatsu route: A small diesel locomotive and freight cars, giving us the possibility to operate some freight on the route. For the default NEC route: An AEM-7 and Silverliners are obvious. Perhaps some Conrail/CSX freight stuff. An extension of the route to NYC would also be nice. For the default Tokyo-Hakone route: Don't know of much of this route, but perhaps a further trainset (10000 class) and a real-looking 30000EXE.For the default St.Anton-Innsbruck route: Freight cars for the Gölsdorf 380, enabling freight operations on the route. A small steam switcher to enable switching operations. For the default Settle-Carlisle route: Well, basically what they could do was just include 3DTrainStuff's LMS Steam & Freight pack, giving us the possibility to operate fairly protypical freight operations on the route. Perhaps also include the AI steam engine shown in some of the early clips released of the game, but not in the game itself (I think it was a Duchess class?)For the default Marias Pass: Get TrainArtisan to further refine their BNSF SD70MAC and Bethgon coalhoppers. And throw in an AI B40-8P Genesis and some real-looking Superliners.

AN ALL AUSSIE ADD-ONThough the chances of that are quite low. I'd kill for that. Please ask me to kill for that!As for existing stuff, I'd like to see an extension of Tokyo-Hakone, as shown on the Odakyu site, with more Shinkansen trains and more activities that fully utilise the stations, traffic and signals.-----------------------------------FORMERLY 'THE KOZIOL' BEFORE THE STUPID DELETED USERNAMES DISASTERAL QAEDA IS SUSPECTED

RE: What would you like to see in an 'official' MSTS ad

My votes would go to the following subjects:
* An electrified modern-day European mainline done to the same quality as the Pro Train and German Railroads series (though I do not insist on a German scenario...France, Italy or Switzerland would be fine, too)
* A Shinkansen line (well, that was obvious, no? )
* Perhaps a South African route - because I believe Africa has been overlooked almost completely until now.
* Alternatively, a South American line would be a nice change of pace, too - perhaps that Argentine narrow-gauge line across the Andes?
* As for North America, I would like to see the electrified Pacific section (is that the correct name?) of the Milwaukee Road, complete with Little Joes, EP-2s and those other electric monsters.

HAPPY NOW? It's not moving anymore.
It's still the same train but in another livery, that's all.

Working on a route which is strongly inspired from the "Malmbanan", but is a fictional route. Anyway, good opportunities to use the rolling stocks used on the real "Malmbanan". A lot of the rolling stock used at Malmbanan is already avaible in MSTS.

Plus all of the North American stuff that everyone has mentioned.

Besides the obvious easier route editor, I'd say for the actual game, here's what I'd have...1) Actually, going back to the route editor, I'd say the ability to run circular routes, for those of us Amusement and museum train fanatics2) A small American steamer, nothing too big,3) As previously said, some heavyweight cars4) Better sounds5) In-game consist editor6) MORE COMMUTER STUFF!!!!!!!I think that's all for now.-Matt, future Cirque Du Soleil singer-Crime: It's my anti drug -Creating Pac-Man comics for the humorless people out there

• A complete NYC Subway System and the Staten Island Railway. Rolling stock included are the R32s, R38s, R40Ms, R42s, R44s, R46s, R62/As, R68/As, R142/As, R143s, and some worker cars/locomotives... and maybe the Redbirds (R26/28/29/33/36/WF) for those who love them so much as well as miss them (nearly all of them have retired). That's it!

I would have to say I would like to see MSTS become a better simulator. Look at all the detail put into the premier flight sims on the market today. Then compare that to MSTS. It would be nice to see locomotives that you would have to "fire up" and get running before operating if you so choose. Also the equiptment currently availble is very forgiving. It would be nice to see locomotives that could overheat when worked too hard or random faults that occured because of wear. I also have to agree that sound improvements would be greatly appreciated. A train just isn't a train without the noise. Besides what everyone else said thats about all I can think of. Have a good week!
Power On!

RE: What would you like to see in an 'official' MSTS ad

Gosh, I can't think of anything we don't already have, rolling stock and locomotive related.Route wise, A modified and redone german ProTrains route, with better scenery and textures, as the first two were done very early on in MSTS, and could use a upgrade. Also, a route I would love to run, the CSX ex-Chessie route from Washington DC to Cumberland Maryland, by way of Brunswick, Harpers Ferry WV, and Martinsburg WV. A little bit of everything on this route, bridges, tunnels, rivers, cities, towns, commuter, and frieght op's, as well as a power plant for the coal train lovers.UP's Donner Pass, but in the SP days, and BNSF's sub from Barstow to Kingman, and or, Needles to Winslow AZ.Just a wish list.............

RE: What would you like to see in an 'official' MSTS ad

I'll second that, and add to it.I'd really like to see the entire Southern Ontario network on one big route - I'd find that worth upgrading my computer for. CN & CP routes from well east of Toront to well to the west, would allow passenger working (Via and GO) as well as Freight. And we can add in the heritage lines in the area (Durham, South Simcoe, Port Stanley, & Halton County Radial ). Then for there's the subway and streetcar routes in Toronto. Most of this can be linked up. And of course appropriate rolling stock. It would be fun to be running past the Davisville TTC yard in the cab of a GO or Via train, or perhaps one of the few freights. Or be held at Pickering in a CN freight until a GO train has come past - provided the wait wasn't too long.If we wanted to get historical, we can have the abondoned lines which used to cover the entire area - or perhaps we should have those a separate route - this is getting quite massive. No really steep grades to provide challenge, but an intricate network with a lot of variety.CheersJohn

LAST EDITED ON Apr-21-03 AT 01:14 PM (EDT)

Hmmm...may need to get a larger hard drive.Actually, I'd like to see an American steam route, a big city subway system (like that in New York)and an African route (maybe even through the jungle - is there such a route?). Most of these had already been mentioned, but, hey, more votes couldn't hurt. I'd also like to see the former C&NW commuter routes (now Metra) but that's a personal preference since I grew up close to Chicago's Northwest Line.

RE: What would you like to see in an 'official' MSTS ad

There are a couple of routes I would like to see. The first is the Moffat tunnel route from Denver to Grand Junction. This should also include the branch line to Craig, Colorado. The second would be the Royal Gorge Route from Pueblo to Grand Junction. If done properly, these 2 routes could complement each other because the meet at Dotsero, Colorado just before entering Glenwood Canyon.
