For some reason, I can't get Sky! to "take" on Raton Pass 2.0. is this a common problem? It works on every other route I've downloaded, and on the default routes.

RE: Sky! Conductor and Raton Pass

I have run into similar problems... I had to delete Sky Conductor once and it did not appear to work correctly... When I reinstalled it some of the routes were already setup and did not need me to add them again... Other routes, no matter how many times I tried to add them, the selected environment would not display... I have removed and installed the routes... I removed and installed MSTS (No fun there) and to this day I still can not get it to work on specific routes... Kind of at loss...
Good Luck...
Scott

Copy the envfile folder from a route where it does work to the route that you'll having problems with and that should solve the problem. This works for me quite well.

RE: Sky! Conductor and Raton Pass

Couple of things to check.I presume these are all add-on routes where the trouble presents itself. Check in the "routename.trk" file in the section where the parameters are all like:SpringClear ( sun.env )
SpringRain ( rain.env )
SpringSnow ( snow.env )
.
.
.to make sure that all the .env files listed are sun.env, rain.env and snow.env. I think (not absolutely sure, but think so) that SC uses only those generic environment filenames for add-on routes. Also, go to "routename"\ENVFILES and open up sun.env in WordPad. Here and there you'll come upon the following: terrain_texslot ( hitw-trueblue.ace )which indicates that SC is installed to that route. The "hitw-trueblue.ace" is the giveaway. If the filename was "daysky.ace", then SC is not installed. If SC is really not installed to the route, I know of no other way to install it other than the SC "Add-A-Route" utility. But it may be installed and not used cause of the add-on using a different environment file in the .trk file list.Jeff

RE: Sky! Conductor and Raton Pass

Sorry for the belated response - I lost track of the thread. I see several suggestions here and will try each to see which, if any work.
I have recently added Marias31 to my routelist, and Sky! doesn't "take" on it, either.
Thanks in advance for the suggestions, and I'll get back on with results when I have a chance to try them.

RE: Sky! Conductor and Raton Pass

Maybe way off the mark but the two you mention are in the latter half of the alphabet. Whilst reinstalling SC2 last night found it only shows the first 6 or 7 routes to be added which quite threw me for a while. So if you have a lot to add those may not necessarily show until some above have been added.

RE: Sky! Conductor and Raton Pass

I don't think that's the problem, as I only have 5 non-default routes installed:
MP3.0
MP3.1
Carrizo Gorge 2.0
BlueRidge Sub 1.1 (I think, whatever's current)
Raton Pass (the first public release, I've never upgraded)
Sky! loaded OK for MP3.0, Carrizo Gorge, and Blue Ridge Sub by using the "Add Routes" feature, but the others haven't loaded at all using the same procedures.
BTW, for informational purposes, I have all of the default routes loaded, and they all run with Sky! and there is a sub-folder in the Sky!-files folder under Train Simulator for each of the problem routes.

OK, here's what I found:
Based on your suggestion, I opened the *.trk file for both of the problem routes. When I got to SpringClear etc., instead of saying ( sun.env ) they all said: ( USA2sun.env ) and so on. When I removed the "USA2," Sky! conductor starting showing up. Problem solved - Thanks.
Now the question is: how to remove the USA2 automatically; maybe patch 2.6 does that, if I can ever get back in to the download area. ( What's so interesting all of a sudden, or do we have a bunch of new folks "catching up?") (EDIT: Spelling corrections)
