After a long thread discussion... ...it was decided that the creator "dissappeared" before it was completed.FYI: You are only stirring things up because you have avoided using the forum search feature... this tends to "stir up" a few forum members... it is also a good recommendation...Searching before asking is a good forum etiquette Pete

RE: What Ever Happened to the cab forward

smp11512:I'll post the same good news here in answer to your question that I did for JP24_Fan1 and that is:Take heart! GOOD NEWS!!!!! Ones-a-coming! When Mikkox droped off the face of the earth taking along with him a beauatiful almost completed AC-12 over a year a go, it left quite a void, a lot of questions, and a lot of inquires in the forums. There are a lot of us who would love to complete our SP steam rouster with a Cab-Fordward.Well ones in the works. I know as I been helping to some extent to supply what information and techanical data that I have. Erik of SacramentoLocomotiveWorks.com and SP_MSTS.com has picked up the tourch and is continuning the work. He is, amoung other projects, working on and SP AC-12 class Cab-Fordward. However he came across some new techniques that caused him to back track on the project so that the final project will be all that it can be and that it will be done right. The tender was almost finish and he had quite a bit of work completed on the engine at the time. This will cause a bit of a delay. He also has future plans after the AC-12 for an early AC-3 Flat-Nose Cab-Fordward, and an AC-9 convential cab that SP acquired when it took over the El Paso & Southern. Southern Pacific had 12 of these AC-9.Be paient as Erik has a lot of irons in the fire so to speak and a lot of other projects that he is commited to, thus, he is spred very thin. And all this in addition to a family and a real life job that brings the money in!Just give him some time and it will bet done as Erik is commited to getting it done and getting it done right.

Happy and Safe Railroading to ya.
