Dumb keyboard

hi everyone,got a stupid thing to ask: how does it come I can't use my keyboard in MSTS?
Got a PS2 keyboard, usualy troubleless, but it seems it doesn't work in the game (no effect by pressing any touch in the configuration panel, nore in the game. just F1 is working and it's not a lot to play, change views, ...)if anyone's got an idea, it will be welcome.Bye

PS2 or PS/2?I'm thinking play station 2 when you say PS2anyway, are you pressing the right keys? If you have simple controls on it's different from normal controls

Ok, PS/2, no sony.regarding your message, *i did not understand what you meant. got a keyboard (on wich I'm typing right now), but seems I don't have one in the game (not a single thing whatever I'm typing but F1)?????????????????????????????????????????????

If F1 is working then the keyboard is working.What other keys are you trying to use?Derek

A keyboard working with word should be working with anything else. F1 is working in the game, but I'm not able to reassignate any key. if pressin 1,2,3,4,or5 inthe game (changing views), nothing happens. it's the same for any key. don't understand at all. I just came to install the game again, still it doesn't work.

"Reassignate any Key" ? What do you mean by that ?Dumb question ! Which Number keys do you press, the ones in the top row or the ones in the "Numbers" keypad, "Num Lock" being lit up of course ? Go into MSTS Options.
"General" - Nothing selected.
"Keyboard" - Restore Defaults.W to select Forward Motion
S to select Reverse Motion
D Increase Throttle
A Decrease Throttle
' Increasd Brake
; Decrease BrakeStill not working, take MSTS back to where you got it from !O t t o.

How did you resolve this in the end? I have just got a new PC, installed MSTS, and have exactly this problem - in drive a train etc. none of the keys work, except F1 and Alt-F4! It worked fine on my old PC. Keyboard options have not been touched since install.-Alan

Hi,In fact, I didn't resolve anything at all, I deinstalled tehe game.
I just came to change my old Abit kt133 and hope it will work. At last!Good luck!

oh, I didn't see my last post,....
I said it was working... Yes, it worked once, and never more. I don't understand anything. But I had other troubles, due to my mb. So I still hope it will work.

Oh, right - well thanks for replying anyway.I have discovered if I alt-tab to the desktop and alt-tab back to MSTS, the keyboard then starts working (if the game doesn't crash - it doesn't like alt-tabbing!)Cheers,

From a post on uktrainsim I have discovered that if I disable the startup logo via the registry; the keyboard works fine.Given that it also works if you alt-tab and go back in; it must be the video playback routine that grabs the focus at startup and doesn't properly return it on some systems.-Alan
