go to "downloads area" or whatever it's called, and it should be under new routes, or new files, but it should be there. Sorry for the missing link, if all else fails, just type in "www.thetrain.de" in the address bar. It should work then.

RE: great new tram route!

Matt: Thanks for the heads-up on an interesting route. What is the tram in your screenshots?Everyone: Apart from the included tram, is there any other stock out there that would be appropriate for the route? It's "BVG", right?Rob.

RE: great new tram route!

Thanks for that Link, Dick !Just as well you did, don't like the Tram which came with the Route. Can't see where you are going for Windscreen Wipers ! This is some Tram Route !!! Always wanted to be a Tram Driver since growing up in Vienna before and during WW-II. Finally made it ! This Route also seems to have solved the "Continuous Loop" problem I also finally found a solution for today. If the "Umlaut" Activities cause problems for some of you, Delete them and create your own !O t t oCan't get it all into one Screenshot ! RE: great new tram route!

No, the Route has not achieved "Continuous" Running ! Sooner or later the Route will "FREEZE", attempting to run through it "Non Stop", throwing the Switch before entering the smaller return Loop at 13.52771 / 52.46965, the middle of my Screenshots.Looks like I got another challenge ? O t t o

RE: great new tram route!

Obo,www.thetrain.de had two sets of vintage BVG (West) streetcars in its library a while ago. Click download aera -> Zugverband -> StadtverkehrSee pix below. The first one called T24 comes with trailer B24, and is available either with pantograph as pictured here or with trolley pole.Great new tram route! – image 33The second one, called T36, is a center door car, coming with a second unit disguised as .wag file to run "shuttle" style trains with an idling motor car in the rear.Great new tram route! – image 34You may want to give them a try, although the design reflects that the cars have been around for a while already. Didn't check if there is a new version for them on the site Lukas a.k.a Swissie

RE: great new tram route!

Rob,one item I could think of spontaneously is that the tram you're using might be missing the "PassengerCapacity" definition in the ENG file. As you might remember, vehicles defined as being "engines" cannot carry any passengers, unless you have this definition added to the ENG file. Try entering something like "PassengerCapacity (60)" (sans quotes - and the figure is, of course, up to your judgment) in front of the Lights section and see if it works.

RE: great new tram route!

Got it in one, Dominik. Since I'm talking about the default activities I presume everyone else has the same problem. So, traction fans, what would be the best value to put here?Funny to hear a whistle and "ok to proceed" while driving a tram. Maybe the definition was left out on purpose because of this?Rob.

NON-STOP TRAFFIC PROBLEM FIXED

O.K. you Tram Lovers, NON-STOP running will be possible as soon as the German Creator issues an Update, incorporating my solution ?Added a few Signals at strategic locations in the return Loops, above ground, all the Route's Signals being "Underground" ?
Had to take up some Road Asphalt I could not replace because their Objects files are missing, as are a lot of special trees files !Also extended the "Dead-ends" in the Loops to make more room for longer Tram Consists "Starting Points".Let my Tram run the Route for over one hour while I went out to visit one of my local clients ! NO PROBLEM !One thing is again glaringly obvious. The Pantographs do not match the Overhead Wire, yet again ! No good suggesting raising and
lowering it for every type of tram available. It would also come away from the Gantry's Support Arms doing that. MSTS - KUJU will
have to figure a way to make all Pantos "AUTO ADJUST" to the Overhead and no "Buts" about it ! Now wouldn't it be great if there were a Driver in the Cab, People inside the cars and on the Platforms too ! RE: NON-STOP TRAFFIC PROBLEM FIXED

Hi,Ottodad, that looks good. Good investigation of you.
I was thinking. At Lichtenberg, you don't have a switch, if you run the right track, you go right into the loop.
Is it possible to do the same at the other site, at Schöneweide? So removing the switch on that site too.
Then you don't have to throw any switch at all.Dick van den HovenGreat new tram route! – image 40

RE: NON-STOP TRAFFIC PROBLEM FIXED

Dick, forgot to mention that you have to do a complete Circuit through both Return Loops first to set the Switches for the Non-Stop Circuit. This having been done, with no Complaints from MSTS, you can drive Non-Stop until the cows come home ! O t t o

RE: NON-STOP TRAFFIC PROBLEM FIXED

Otto,
just noticed the yellow trainset from your last set of screenshots. This is actually a dual-voltage EMU used on the fairly new Karlsruhe S-Bahn, which is also known as the RegioTram, as far as I know. This network combines normal streetcar tracks (electrified at 600 V DC, IIRC) and mainline trackage (electrified at 15 kV AC). Therefore, these cars pass through the Karlsruhe city area like a tram and then switch over to the DB network in order to extend past the city limits.
Just thought you might be interested to know this .

RE: NON-STOP TRAFFIC PROBLEM FIXED

Of course I am interested, Dominik, now that I have caught the "Tram" bug ! Pity the Pantos can not adjust to the Overhead Wire ! Olli - "Linie 27" just replied to say that he tested his Route following my suggestions and it worked, what else ! Not being satisfied with just half the solution, I tested it on the Left track in the opposite direction, "Links Verkehr" and that worked too !B.t.W.: I am using the RAILWAVE Track Sounds with this Route, PERFECT and you may have noticed the LGV-MED Rails, much better than the chunky MSTS Default ones !He is working on enlarging the Route and we hope that "Circular Non-Stop Traffic" can be maintained ! More as soon as he tells me to let the Forum know.O t t o

RE: great new tram route!

I downloaded the Lenie 27 tram route, this is most enjoyable except for the darn windscreen wipers. I ran Route Riter and it showed one bug referring to the Snow and suggests that the values 256 be changed to 257 in the .sd files. A file is reported as missing in that of "oberleitung.s", searching for this file shows no trace. The horn fails to sound.

Here is the Link again:http://www.trainsimworld.de/Frames/Downloads_D.htmSelect Loks - Nahverkehr (Local Traffic) and take your pick.Whenever you get a message about a File being missing, do a "FILE SEARCH" for it in your MSTS Drive and having found one, in this case the "Signal.sms", COPY/PASTE it into the LINIE-27 \SOUND\ Folder.O t t o.
