... wrong signal, and judging by the position of that train brake handle, I'd say somebody's seat turned a little yellow as well. - dispatcher618

In the track monitor it looks like your train is backing up and you have a red signal to your rear. Am I reading it wrong?

The red signal to the rear is an artifact of drifting back just a bit, due to being parked on an uphill grade. The problem is indeed the wrong signal aspect. This is the "Patch a UP Train" activity of Cajon Pass. The activity opens a few minutes before, as shown in the image attached. Note that the signal is yellow, the train is stopped and it is 14:19:17 hours. Just 16 seconds after the activity started. Now, your instructions are to take this train to West Colton. What do you do? I say you drive. The yellow signal allows you to proceed... but let's wait instead. At 14:22:15, we have the scene I first posted. When the opposing train appears, the signal changes to green. Now, if you want to talk about color of seat cushions, consider the second screen attached. This is what happens if you actually proceed on that yellow signal. It was not pretty.Does anybody agree with me that the sim should have started with the signal aspect red? And that the yellow allowed one to proceed?

Do you have the 1.6 update? I just tried running this activity and when I started, I had a red light. Waited a couple of minutes and along came a train. After it passed, light turned green and off I went.

I had 1.5 on CD, so I downloaded and installed 1.6. Still have that yellow light. No idea why. No problem either, now that I know to wait for the green. Later in the activity I got stuck at a red at the end of a double track section, and when the opposing train arrived, it seemed to have a red and refused to take the siding. Second deadly embrace on the Cajon route. This was in 1.5. I need to try it in 1.6, but with an hour of running time to get to that spot, it's hard to get my enthusiasm up. </edg>
