So, I think someone might have asked this before, but give me a short reply to the question:What is 'The Route' you have downloaded and will not delete from the hard drive no-matter-what? And tell me also why you like it so much and will not delete it.My own is the Full Bucket Line, absolutely. I fell in love to it when the Version 1 came out and I have had it since. I deleted it in favour of Version 2 only.I like it becouse it is extremely FPS-friendly, and above all, it is truly generic. And without a doubt, the best one I have had. I have never had so much fun with any other route that the FBL and its successors.

RE: Question : Name of 'The Route' you will not Delete

Just one?!...Okay, my vote would go for Rich Garber's "Ohio and WV RR." This has it all, great engines and rolling stock, fun activities, mountains, rivers, big cities, small towns, industries, train yards and even a tugboat! But I wouldn't want to live without FBL, Dual Fantasy, East Metro, N&JC, etc...etc...Mr. Fred

Ditto on Ohio Rail - I never tire of it!Close seconds would be FBL, PO&N, Dogskill, ADFRR, LV, the NZ timber route, Hoogsdam, North of England, Swansea, Sandpatch, KHP, Bear Mountain, Pobla, Natural King 07, Zd-Ekz, SDA2, and Marias 3.1But Ohio Rail has it all...Tim

If were talking payware, it would be the soon to be released Tehachapi. If were talking freeware, gosh ,that is a tough one. So many great routes. The great part is it is so easy to copy the folders onto CD to make room for others. But back to your question, if i was to keep just one freeware route, it would have to be Robert Reedys ADFRR.Just for poops and giggles, heres a list of my fav's in some order:Tehachapi, ADFRR, HooDoo Pass, Cajon, Sandpatch, KHP, CSX Funnel, MP3, PO&N6, CSX Blueridge, Dogskill, Crawford Hill, EMRR, German Railroads, San Diego and Arizona, BNSF Seattle, and Conrail Indy.

I'll agree with Mr. Fred on that!Ohio Rail is also great for BOTH freight AND passenger activities! I'm having a blast just running Amtrak trains (and NJT seems to have loaned the Ohio Rail some test consists as well ).And i'll also agree though that i could also not bear to part with ADFRR, FBL, EMRR, and so on!------ BUZZ ------

> P.S.-What is the difference between FBL 1 and FBL 2? Anything worth redownloading?Dash9_Man,FBL 2 is about 2.5 times the track length of FBL 1, a new double track mainline in the south, and some additional short branch into a rocket test center (see below).Question : Name of 'The Route' you will not Delete – image 26
Now that makes the engineer wonder: The sign says no trespassing, but the signal still shows "approach"?

Question : Name of 'The Route' you will not Delete – image 27
The small thingy in the foreground is the train...But I wouldn't worry downloading FBL 2 now. Bjoern did repeatedly post some previews of FBL 3 in the route builders forum recently, and judging from how these look, FBL 3 again has... a few more miles of track than FBL 2. So you may just want to hang on and drool for the next verison...Lukas a.k.a Swissie

I don't know when it's gonna be released, but it will take a while... at the moment, I have very little time to work on FBL3, and Teemu Vehkaoja aka tvrail is still struggling with the signals. But there is light at the end of the corridor (pray it's not an oncoming SD90MAC while you're on a single track ).So, Dash9_Man, go ahead and download FBL version 2! Cheers, Björn

RE: Question : Name of 'The Route' you will not Delete

Hi Björn,thanks for droping into the discussion and giving the "no panic-guestimate" on a release still being more than a day or two away. Better take your time - I appreciate your taking care of all details before a release. No lets just hope FBL3 grows up in less than 18 years, starting from now I actually shelved some ideas for making a few activities for FBL2 as I thought they might be obsolete ("zum Wände tapezieren") by the time I finished them. So - you think it's still worth getting started, except for the exercise? And speaking of activities: do the issues you hint to in the route builders forum (re: track issues/FBL 2.1 which you cancelled in favor of 3) have to do with troubles with the work orders? I wanted to do some activity in which you'd have to pick up mail cars from 4-5 sidings while doing a local passenger run from Mount Oliver to Ft. Fairfax (idea similar to the "round up the cabeese" activity somebody did for PO&N). Couldn't get the work order to accept more than the first mail car at Hope's End.Lukas a.k.a Swissie

Thus, I better give it a new version number so everyone will know that a FBL2 activity might not on FBL3.Cheers, Björn

RE: Question : Name of 'The Route' you will not Delete

Hi Zach, start from Lake Hurst, driving towards Mount Oliver (that is: West), use the right track of the mainline. Circa a mile and a half from Lake Hurst, the single track spur with the 30mph limit leaving to the right takes you to the rocket facility (which is about 3 slow miles from the main).Lukas a.k.a Swissie

Raton Pass all the way. It's one of the few routes that doesn't act up from time to time on me, and you can run almost any type of equipment on it and it won't look out of place. Also, you get really good frame rates.

Definately Full Bucket for me as well. I downloaded V2.0 of this route just before the Christmas, and I was imediately hooked. The FBL is good looking and has a good framerate, a rare combination in MSTS routes.

Well, the NECv4 is being sent (by snail-mail) to the beta testers today.
Here is a map of the route:
Please note that this map has omitted about 80 industry sidings that I could not show due to the size of the map. This is only the "Big Picture."
I plan to break the map into maybe three sections for greater detail.

RE: Question : Name of 'The Route' you will not Delete

For me any route is subject to deletion. KHP has been the longest lived on my harddrive. Sandpatch is a close second. MP3.1 - deleted, ORRlatest build - never downloaded, Cajon - deleted but thinking of putting it back, PRR Middle Division (beta) - installed, deleted 2 days later, Raton & FBL - all versions deletedKevin Arceneaux

Newark & New Jersey is definately my favourite, followed by
Full Bucket Line and Ohio Build 10. I love the industrial landscape of NNJ and still haven't explored half of it.
