Tidying up the N.&.J.C. with the ROUTE RITER I get as far as 1/3 into "COMPACTING" when it stops, the Hour Glass hanging there, the last Files showing white on blue in the left window being WORLD Tiles. Did all the preceeding tasks O.K., including the "Check", no Errors with the latter.Does the same with the NEC but not with the P.O.&.N..Any of you ROUTE RITER Wizards know what the problem could be ?O t t o

RE: ROUTE RITER Problem

No, but I had the same problem today with Cajon. However, it happened on the Check segment, never even got to compacting.

RE: ROUTE RITER Problem

Hi Otto,Not sure what the problem you have with N&JC is, as I have just run Route-Riter and compacted my copy of N&JC and it ran stright through with only one message to advise one of the pallet.s files had not uncompressed first time, but the program automatically retried this and it worked second time. For your info, there is not much point in compacting N&JC with Route-Riter in any case, as the route was produced using Route-Riter originally, so in theory there would be no saving in any case. This also applies to any downloaded route which includes the file InstallMe.bat.I assume you are using the latest version of RR v3.8.27 on this site if I remember correctly. One of the earlier versions had a problem sometimes in locking up if it found a Read-Only file in the downloaded route. However the latest version should give you an error message if this happens.Sorry I can not help any more, if you could send me a screen shot where it hangs to virtualtrains@optushome.com.au I might have a better idea where it has gone wrong.Regards

Mike

RE: ROUTE RITER Problem

Hi Derek,Yes, 3.8.30 is a patch from my temporary home page. Fixes a couple of small bugs, but nothing connected with the Compacting of routes etc.

RE: ROUTE RITER Problem

I'm with you there John. Route Riter is in the big three of utilities as far as I am concerned, the other two being Conbuilder and EngMod.Bill

Hi Otto,Sorry that I jumped in. With Engmod, you can change many parameters in the eng and wag file. More easy to handle then poking in the file directly with an editor. And here is a not so good Screenshot. Needed to size it down:ROUTE RITER Problem – image 2Dick van den HovenROUTE RITER Problem – image 3

RE: ROUTE RITER Problem

You didn't need to use Route-Riter on the N&JC....the author already slimmed it down. How do I know? I read the "readme"......
