RE: Cp 2860 - Royal Hudson

Will the cab have a screw reverser, or a Johnson bar?
I always thought that North American engines used a Johnson bar, and am surprised that the cabs in MSTS all seem to have screw reversers.

The cab is to CP specifications, and was modelled after the cab in 2816/2860. Reverser is the standard CP power driven one, with correct sounds, and indicator quadrant. This cab has the blessing of Bill Stetler, Road Manager Steam Operations, at CPR.

Harold

RE: Cp 2860 - Royal Hudson

Great! My wife and I never did make it back to North Vancouver to reprise our one and only trip on the real thing, but I'll be running it in MSTS! One question: is it sacrilege to ask if you'll be doing the "British Columbia" version as well?Henry

too bad 2860 needs a PRICEY new boiler, or she'd be out and about still doing the tourist train.

You've got it ALL spot-on!!Now, if only we had the sounds too with the three-chime whistle, I'd be over the moon AND back! hehe.. Keep up the exceptional work!(why-oh-why do I have midterms now!?!?......)

RE: Cp 2860 - Royal Hudson

hehe, get ready to jump.. I did the sounds on this one, and the whistle was recorded from 2816/2860 live...(as was the reverser noise)
There's a surprice in the cab sounds, too..Cheers

BTW-My uncle was an engineer for BCR on the Hudson up until it was retired recently (at least as far as I know it was retired), so I can scare up home video footage, sounds, etc, from within the past 5 years or so if you want. I think. Looks good, eh?

RE: Cp 2860 - Royal Hudson

some sound stuff would be very useful, especially in-cab stuff.
If the video is VHS, I can capture it and burn to a cd for you, if you'd like..Thanks or the offer.
