I just posted the V4.5 physics update for the DDA40X. I somehow missed that file in the original compilation, and the original stock file is particularly problematic for that locomotive. This unit is basically a pair of GP40s on one common frame. The horsepower of each diesel prime mover was raised slightly from 3,000 to 3,300 and the gearing changed to a higher speed 90 mph gear set. The result of that gear selection is more speed but less continuous tractive effort, and dynamic braking that is slightly less strong, and peaks at a little higher speed. Thus, these locomotives were used in high speed freight service over the Union Pacific mainline from western Nebraska to Utah. These were not the heavy haul coal machines, but used much like a pair of GP40s.
Please read the install instructions carefully, as this file has a slightly different order of install procedures. You will also note, I included a line in the install file that will convert the couplers into the unbreakable strength needed for some route problems. Just be sure you read the documentation before you begin and make a copy for backup in case you make a mistake somewhere (both good ideas under any circumstances).
