I'm looking for some help with msts. after spending hours making up my own activity on the marias pass sim. I go to play it and it starts out ok but than I may get a broken coupler alert and than from that point on when I get to that place in the sim. the game stops because of that broken coupler (every time) I've even started from scratch and made a new activity with the same result. If I can't solve this problem than I would like to disable the alert part of the program. I mean this game is no fun if you can't play it! I may have to use it to start a fire! I've verified that all the paths work and the new activity loads ok each time. Sooblue
Had that trouble, too. Open the .eng and .wag files of your units with WordPad, and scroll down a short distance from the top of the page until you see the word "Coupling". Just below that you wil see the line: "Break ( 1.1e7N 1.1e7N )". Change the '7' (or whatever) to a 9, and that increases the force required to break the couplers. Close WordPad, and SAVE the changes when asked. You can experiment with different values...i.e "10.1e9N", etc. Hope this advice increases your enjoyment of MSTS.
Fix the damping line in all the engs/wags also. engmod is a good program do do it with. You also do not need to increase the couplers that much- 4.1 to 5.1 should be more than enough. Also check the FAQ's. there is a section about it.Kevin Arceneaux It is time for Amtrak to become a fallen flag!
