DAP ,,,Downloads?

3failed attempt's using DAP to download...SDA2.zip.
A route for Southern Arizona...53 megs.
It took 2days to get it, And each time it said the ZIP was corrupt???
The D/L would slow way down and seem to stall. I would wait a while and then re-start it...till it slowed down again. Repeat...till it completed.I'm on a 56k dial up...Yeah I know....But this is the first time I've ever had this kind of problem!
Any Ideas or suggestions.

Yeah...My bad...
I went and got GETRIGHT!!!!!!!!
Strange....I had some slow download speeds with DAP(2.9-3.9KB)...But GETRIGHT is running right around 4.5-4.7KB on 56K modem.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA................It got too 53.96megs...98%.......
And lost the connection???????
I tried using the search and mirror....but it wouldnt' re-connect...

Arrrrggghhhhh............. What!.. was this with Getright, or that useless unpredictable Windows download.
If with Getright, when I loose a connection, what was already downloaded is kept. Just restart Getright Resume download later on.
Or when using Getright in the TS library. If get cut off from the TS library you need to change the URL in Getright so Getright can resume and finish downloading the file. Had that happen at lot when my ISP was upgrading their servers and it worked okay everytime. Okay now.

You get nearly there,,,, then... KAPUT lost the lot. Grrrrrrr... BTW Getright has an upgrade from 4.5d to 4.5e (patch)

Hi Derek,I use to use DAP probably some 2 years ago and was not happy with its performance, so I took DAP off, and used Windows Download for a little bit which worked better apart when it stops.... Grrr.... But hey, maybe later version(s) of DAP are much better than 2 years ago.After a bit I tried Getright and I felt it was better, but 6 months ago I upgraded Getright to 4.5d and it goes very well. No hassles at all, reason I spoke highly of it.DEREK, I'm not suggesting that DAP is ......, all I'm saying here is I personally found Getright better. But that said, I'm not about to install DAP to prove a point as they are possibly both as good as each other these days, just is a preference thing here, that's all.

Hi John,I have done the reverse.
I used getright for some time, had some problems, removed getright.I installed DAP, have kept it upgraded, and I would swear by it.I have done the same with AV products, and now use AVG.Our mileage varies.Derek

Hi Derek,Yes I agree with you in as when I used the first Getright there was an odd small problem but once upgraded from that early version, no problems. Well just goes to show how both DAP and Getright are as good as each other. We all tend to mention what we all find works on our PC's. One thing I learnt over the years is you can have 2 identical PC's and there will be odd things that act differently with certain programs.Well one thing this proves that with both the latest versions of DAP or Getright are the same. Only need to find which one is okay for your particular system.>> Our mileage varies.
We just come from different directions to arrive at the same thing.
