NASA lost the Challenger Shuttle on take off some time ago, remember !Space Travel is a risky and dangerous business and the people lost in Shuttle accidents are hard to replace, being unique in their scientific subjects ! Never mind the money.I am watching a report on TV as I write this. Terrible for the people who were in it ! I hope they did not suffer too much !It will be difficult to ascertain what caused it to break up on re-entry, not much left of it to reach the ground. Another problem is that communications with the Shuttle are being lost during some stages of re-entry and events in the Shuttle can not be monitored by Mission Control during this "Communications Black-out".It was the oldest of the Shuttles going back to 1981 and should have been retired some time ago ?And there is now another problem ! It will be some time before another USA Shuttle will be ready to supply necessaries to the Astronauts on board the new Space Station , relying on Russian Shuttles to do the job in the meantime !And if anybody comments again saying that this is not a MSTS related subject then I suggest they let the Moderators decide whether this is of insterest to readers of this Forum or not !
