RE: Tehachapi Pass II

If they leave off UP/SP they will forget half of the owners. I don't think 3DTS would domething a dumb as that. Better yet it could be just SP and ATSF!Kevin Arceneaux

Again, we must wait for the ramp up of prerelease publicity, but my vote would be to set it right around the mergers so we could go either way with activities and rolling stock.

My prediction:Modern-day - BNSF, UP, SJVR (shortline that operates in the Bakersfield area), Amtrak50s/60s - ATSF, SP

RE: Tehachapi Pass II

The Loop was built by Southern Pacific and is now owned by Union Pacific. ATSF and later BNSF has trackage rights from Mojave to Bakersfield. The SVRR run on ex-SP and ATSF industrial tracks all around the Bakersfield area. SP also had a branch Line that ran off a wye on the west side of Mojave yard out to a Mine or something. They also had a line that ran off towards Nevada somewhere.
I got the impression from Brad that they were doing a modern version but much improved and using all the latest tricks they have learned. It will also include full real scenery, distant Mountains and more trackage. I really loved the first one so I'm sure the updated one will be out of this world.

RE: Tehachapi Pass II

I think with a route like this plus the Trainset's used in Cajon Pass that 3D Trainstuff could touch a little on just about every era, early to modern. I've been waiting for this to hit the streets for some time now, just hope I'm still in the states and not yet deployed when they release it. If I am hopefully there will be some left over once I return. Joe Champlin

I don't think we need no fret too much about what road names will be included. 3DTS is not one to cut corners or admit important things like that. Don't be surprised to find SP, UP, BNSF AND ATSF included. I also think they know that there are a lot of people devoted to a particular road name, such as SP or ATSF.

RE: Tehachapi Pass II

Hi guys,Right now its looking like BNSF, Espee, and SJVRR stuff for the initial release, and maybe a UP add-on later..we will see.Btw, we did take the route out aways towards Arvin as SJVRR has a nice operation out there these days, and SJVRR also keeps a couple of locomotives out there as well. Regarding the release, the route is still in beta, and we still have quite a few models (Bakersfield is a big place), and activities to still do, and then of course test..so it looks like maybe late March before its signed off for release.Anyhow, we are working hard to get it done, and we do appreciate the kind words about the project.Keep'em on the high iron!Best regards,

RE: Tehachapi Pass II

I am happy that SP will be in the initial release of Tehachapi Pass II. I was a big fan of SP and SSW until UP took them over. I really miss the "speed lettering", the "bloody nose" painting schemes, and the grey and red locos with the white "SP" or "SSW" on the nose. BNSF and SP on Tehachapi before the UP merger is a great time period in my opinion.

RE: Tehachapi Pass II

I don't think it really matters what "railroads will be represented" when Tehachapi Pass by 3DTS comes out. When a route is made, it's the tracks, the layout of the route, the scenery, etc. Then you can run ANY equipment YOU desire on any route, that is the "beauty" of MSTS, if that's a way of saying it. For example....
You want to run Amtrak Acela's on the route? Go into the .TRK file and change it to an electrified route and do so. Nobody is going to prevent you from operating whatever equipment "floats your boat" on any route whatsoever.Whatever you feel is "represented" when this route comes out, I'm sure it will be no less than OUTSTANDING, after seeing how close the Cajon Pass route from 3DTS is to the real thing.

RE: Tehachapi Pass II

Yeah it really doesn't matter like you said steve. There is a boat load of old and new UP, SP, and ATSF stuff in the file library. anything that 3DTS makes will just be a bonus in my book. I already have 8 ATSF locos, 22 BNSF, 7 SP, and 14 UP locos. Need I say more?
