The last two days, I have started at Marion and headed west, only to end up with a broken coupler message when I go to switch onto the second track at MP 120. Only this time, the two locomotvies made the switch, and my 100 coal cars stayed on the other track and started to pass the engines!!! I'm not sure what to do, becasue my couplers are already adjusted. Is anyone having problems here as well?

RE: Conrail Indy Route Problem, MP 120

I've been having the same problem, i've had the route for a couple weeks and I haven't had one train make it all the way across the route. My problem is that evertime at around MP 200, I uncouple or have a derailment. There are a couple more areas that I have the same problem with. All in all I really like the route. I think that your answer may lie here........http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/7996.htmlI increased all coupler values across the board - as suggested - and the problem was solved.Bruce.

Okay, what do you do when your break value is already at Break ( 5.1e7N 5.1e7N )and it still breaks? Just how high should you set it to??Help! I love this route, but this is a bummer...Dan Godfrey

Check your damping line in wags and eng files. Make sure it is N/m/s. eng mod can do them

What Kevin said.
Changing just my break values didn't do it, but adding the /s to the damping line fixed the problem.

Thanks for all the help, folks. I will give this 'Engmod' program a try and change those values. Oh, and Kevin, I've been reading the threads, can't wait to get my hands on those activities you are creating for this route. Many thanks in advance.Dan Godfrey

So for those of us who don't know how to put a switch in without screwing everything else up, then were pretty much screwed out of running a superb route? It's a shame to hear that, I was really looking forward to getting out of Ohio....

"So for those of us who don't know how to put a switch in without screwing everything else up, then were pretty much screwed out of running a superb route?..."Not at all.Just increase the breaking strength of your couplers (and modify the Damping if you wish) and you can run the full route at full speed if you like to. RE: Conrail Indy Route Problem, MP 120

I have most of the activity for each train done, allI left to do is BUIN, COIN, ELINA, ELINB, a couple of grain runs, and PISL. I will probably release them as a package of about 23 activites once these are done and tested. Then I will work on a second pack that will have locals, including reworking the Fisher Switcher into YSAN31. I am not putting any eyecandy in the yards and such as this route is a frame rate killer.Kevin Arceneaux

RE: Conrail Indy Route Problem, MP 120

I was able to get the whole train through the switch, but I did have to coast the train through most of the way. What I did was to be rolling at about 25 MPH and about 2/10 of mile before I nothched the power down to O and coasted through letting the speed drop to about 12 - 15 MPH most of the train made it through. Then I notched up to 1 and the rest of the train made it okay. I haven't got to any of the other problem spots yet, but when I do will post and let you know how I made it through.Ken
