Im new here but I have had msts for a while and I have just ordered cajon pass. Does any one else here know where to get downloads of engines, cars, routes, or activities.
Go to the bottom of this page and click on file library. You'll find more stuff than you can figure out what to do with!Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, OR cal.rasmussen@verizon.netColumbia Gorge Route (Phase 1 track completed. Taking a TSM break!)
You have to register for the file library...can't use the same log on that you do here. Route wise, I highly recommend Conrail indy, CSX funnel, crawford hill, dogskill, the ADFRR, port ogden, and Marias pass 3.1, just to name a few.there is a forum called route specs, which goes over in detail a number if not all the routes mentioned above. each route comes with a read me file, which explains how to install the route. some are pretty easy, others, like the conrail indy route, require a little more work, but well worth it.as for rolling stock and locomotives, well take your pick. there is pretty much everything in the file library. whatever you fancy.the forum and it's members, like myself are here to help each other, so if you ever get stuck on something, just ask. as you might have noticed, somebody usually has an answer for something.
I also recommend going to http://www.mapleleaftracks.com for some great payware routes. They have the Canadian Pacific Kicking Horse Pass route, the B&O Sandpatch route, Michigan Iron Ore, and some nice freeware locomotive models too. By the way, welcome to trainsimming! Hope you like your stay! *~þHÃt*Rat~**~classic american playa~*
I wouldn't be so quick to recommend the Iron Ore route. I have heard a lot of negative things towards this route. I'm sure it is a fine route, but this is the first time I won't be sending money to MLT. The routes are getting shorter, and it just sounds like they rushed this one out. Still, if we are going to recommend payware, I too suggest Kicking Horse Pass and Sandpatch from MLT.www.3dtrainstuff.com has Cajon Pass for $25, 250 miles of tracks, nice scenery, realistic grades, can't really do much better than that. They are also working on Tehachapi, which is suppose to be relased shortly. There are also several fine Europeon routes as well, including Pro Train I and II, Heidi Express, German Railroads Volume I and II.
Ah, Chris, he already ordered Cajon. This site has the largest selection of rolling stock and other freeware. If you are into England, you can try UKTrainsim. Kevin Arceneaux It is time for Amtrak to become a fallen flag!
>I wouldn't be so quick to recommend the Iron Ore route. One thing your overlooking is that the Iron Ore route introduces a fully modeled and functional FRED unit that can be used in any consist on any route. This may sound trivial, but to me this alone made the purchase worthwhile.
