Hi,After installing the TGV Duplex in a temp folder; c:\tmp, I got these error when starting the Editors and Tools:Be carefull with the TGV Duplex! – image 2Well that was a tough one. RouteRiter too was complaining.
I got a bright idea, I installed the Duplex in c:\tmp. So I searched the Registry for c:\tmp. And, yes, the self installer of the Duplex had changed the path of the TrainSimulator to c:\tmp. Well after changing it back, everything went normal.
This is the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\1.0You may ask why the .. to a temp folder? This way I can control what is really installed. Many designers have the nasty habit to package default sound files and cabview ace files into their installation and I want them iron out before I install the stuff. So the lesson is, be carefull with self installers, they can change the path of MSTS in the registry.Dick van den HovenBe carefull with the TGV Duplex! – image 3

I do the same thing.. almost, I have Trainsim on D:\program files\Microsoft games\trainsimulator\
but I install everything first in the default path C:\program files\Microsoft games\trainsimulator\
did this with trainsimulater itself too, changed the registry too D:\
I have the main registry-settings of trainsim saved, so with 2 clicks all reg-settings are back to D:\
and trainsim doesn't mind (on my System that is)
and this way I keep my main Trainsim folder free of hundreds of deinstall shortcuts and readme's and other things...

RE: Be carefully with the TGV Duplex!!!

Thanks - I had the same problem with the error message. Wish I had thought to look in the Registry before going through a reinstall. At least I'll know for next time although I've not had it happen before.Merry Christmas.

RE: Be carefully with the TGV Duplex!!!

Hi,It is not MSTS that was complaining, MSTS was running fine.
But Editors and Tools was complaining as they look in the registry to find the path to the Trainsimulator folder. I suppose the Route Editor needs the Utils folder.Dick van den HovenBe carefull with the TGV Duplex! – image 5

RE: Be carefully with the TGV Duplex!!!

Hi,That´s right and it was the path parameter that was ruined. I didn´t knew that the Editors use this parameter. But they do and so does RouteRiter.Dick van den HovenBe carefull with the TGV Duplex! – image 7
