This can happen if there is no passenger car at the platform when you stop. It sometimes happens that the "miles to platform" thing will count down to zero, but if you actually stop there, you will have only locomotives at the platform. You just have to pull forward some more, until there is an actual "carriage" at the platform.By the way, "waiting points" should have nothing to do with this, and in fact don't even work. They will cause an AI train to come to a complete stop, but it then starts right up again, no matter how many 'seconds' you put in the box.The thing that governs how long you wait at the platform is the number of passengers, which you can set by right-clicking on the little blue platform-marker in the Activity Editor. The "properties" of a platform are how many passengers there are.
Thanks Bob. I gave the platforms "properties" and still do not get the "Press to Load" . This is happening at a long platform so I know I have coaches at the platform. Any suggestions.

RE: Loading Time / Press Enter to Start
The problem may be with the cars themselves. I cannot get certain passenger cars from here to load/unload at platforms on the NEC, but I can get the Superliners to do it. Jake Mensel Sandpatch Dispatch http://www.geocities.com/sandpatchdispatch/index.html _________________________
Ahh, yes. I downloaded some cars once, I forget which ones, that had the word "Passenger" in the wag file in the Type () field. The word has to be "Carriage" or it won't work.
Gentlemen, I have tried the experiment and found thai the problem is NOT with the consist. However I will be on the look out in the future. Thanks Any other suggestions.
Hello Hank, another point you'll have to check: Passenger cars (or carriages in the slang of the programmers of the game) only load passengers when this is so-defined in their .wag file. In order for the feature to work, the .wag (or the .eng file, respectively, if we are talking about a trolley or motor car) must contain a line that reads like the example here:PassengerCapacity ( 56 ) The figure in brackets can be any reasonable number higher than zero, but if you'd like to put in realistic values, depending on the type of car I'd set it somewhere between 40 for a lounge, sleeper or diner, to around 80 for a standard chair or coach car, and up to 120 or so for a double-deck commuter car. Actually, I havn't noticed much of a difference on the game whatever number you use, as most plattform properties are set to a few passengers only, anyway. Some .wag and .eng file creators have included the line, some have not, and the latter's cars won't load passengers. No blame ment here, I have sometimes noticed that if somebody creates an entire set / consist of cars, only one of the different types of cars provided features the PassengerCapacity line, which is no problem as long as you include the specific car in your consist: The load/unload feature works, no matter if all or just one car of your train has the PassengerCapacity line in it. The only noticeable difference: If you have just one car in your trainset that "accepts" passengers, it takes a little longer to load those 20-30 people at a plattform than it takes with all the cars featuring a PassengerCapacity...Now to get your cars to load passengers, if you dare to do so, you can edit the .wag file carefully (always make a back-up first, in case you inadvertedly erase something else), always using "wordpad" and making sure the file gets saved in unicode-format again (unless it won't work anymore). Copy and paste the line PassengerCapacity ( 56 )exactly as it stands here (you may change the number in the bracket, of course). A good spot to put it into the wag-file is just after the section "lights". Make sure the PassengerCapacity stands for itself on its own line: To be on the save side, just create a blank line by pressing the return key and then insert PassengerCapacity. Hope that helps you to get it all running as you like, and please make really sure you have a back-up of the original file in case anything unpredictable goes wrong - and computers are unpredictable, aren't they? Lukas a.k.a SwissieBtw. I had to edit about 60% of my carriages to feature the line, as even some of the default cars provided with the original game missed it. Not to speek about some of the downloads. All of the modified cars and motorcars work properly since, but I'd surely appreciate it if all the original creators of passenger equipment could check if they have not forgotten the line in their files... Thx!
Bob, and to all others it may concernI think you refer to the B&O National Limited cars in the file bonatl1.zip. As the cars were designed Type (Passenger) instead of Type (carriage) they tended to show up both under passenger and freight cars in the consist editor, but otherwise worked properly once a PassengerCapacity was defined for them (see my other post here).Although the sim had problems understanding the type of car, they still could be used & run with the non-existant classification as "Passenger". Simply opening the .wag file in question (with wordpad) and changing the type of car to "carriage" solved the problem with the consist editor. There are also some other cars out there with the wrong classification (I even found such a case on a commercial add-on once - no names now & here), occasionally.Lukas a.k.a Swissie
