Last night i decided to uninstall my train sim then reload to get rid of all the trains i dont use. So i did it. Now i cant play it. There are a series of missing eng boxes then when that is done there is a box saying that there was a problem and it gives me the oppertunity to send a description of the problem to microsoft then when i click cancel in the box the program shuts off. Any thoughts? csx_dudeRiverline for ever!

one thing you could have done was delete all of the folders in the TRAINSET folder that you don't use, then go and delete those consists. Once you have all of the consists gone that used all of your engines you deleted, the game should have loaded fine.As to your send/don't send problem, the only thing I might think would be the problem would be too many missing files. I don't know and sorry I can not be of more help...-Creating Pac-Man comics for the humorless people out therethe search for the perfect route continues!
If you uninstall train sim, it leaves a load of stuff, which also has to be deleted. Make sure there is absolutely nothing left before reinstalling.David
The easiest thing for you to do is download Route Control Lite from the downloads section - rc-lite.zip - or if you have trouble getting in go to http://www.howintheworld.com/routecontrol.shtmlInstall it and run it and it will take out all the consists that have a fault and will give you a list of what is missing.Route Riter and conbuilder will also do the job but Route Control will probably be easiest for you at this stage.I just hope that if you deleted the unwanted items you have not emptied the recycle bin!!Bill
A point of interest here for future reference. Sorry this bit below is too late for csx_dude now.If your Train Simulator totals itself and you want to get rid of it, do NOT un-install it. As you would probably like to copy odd bits from out of it, namely known working Rollingstock etc.Firstly, RENAME your Train Simulator to say e.g. Train Simulator_ORG Now as far as windows is concerned, and as long as you have not stuffed the registry (most times not) there is no Train Simulator installed though it says so still in the Registry.Secondly, Now grab your Train Sim CD's and do a complete new install of MSTS to WHERE your first MSTS was installed exactly. This new install will overwrite the original Registry settings as long as you install to WHERE your original copy was installed, unless as I said above you managed to stuff the registry settings up as well. Then that's another story been covered in the Forums. A registry fix first.Once installed you now have two MSTS's Train Simulator (a new good one) and Train Simulator_ORG the stuffed up one. Copy over what rollingstock you require and whatever else. Test the new installed one and see if it goes fine, NOW THIS IS MOST IMORTANT BIT
DELETE your original renamed Train Simulator_ORG stuffed up MSTS DO NOT try to UN-install your old one as all you will do in un-install your new installed one. You will be back to square one, with no Train Sim. That's it enjoy.
GrRrR. Im going through Cutbank on my own activity and im going over the bridge and i derail. But it didnt go into the derailment veiw. Does there have to be an X in the box to have no derails?csx_dudeRiverline for ever!
Well continuing on i checked last night after it happened and there was no X in the box. So the derailment factor wasnt on and it still derailed.csx_dudeRiverline for ever!
