Through my own research and links from other websites, I've found a number of sites where I can download trains. But what ones do most of you use? Ideally, I'd like sites with a huge array of trains to download for MSTS, including types of UK Trains, and famous makes and types. Also, anywhere where most train downloads are applications would be most welcome. (ZIP files are fine, but Executables are quicker and more reliable). Thanks-Conductor Blade

Blade. It's a very personal issue. Some who come here have NO interest in US trains or rolling stock, but they WILL find stuff they want here... Many of the US train freaks could care less about sites in the EU (or anywhere else) that cater to European or World railroads.www.Train-sim.com is the best "all-around" site that serves all interests while the others seem to mostly cater to specialty interests or are developer sites.So... 1) You at the right place for the best selection since many developers only distribute their work though this www.train-sim.com file library.2) Other sites might have just what you are looking for... so keep those links around... but chances are that anything you find elsewhere you will also find here in the www.train-sim.com file library.

Well, you have...UKTrainSim - A site with a huge amount of files, but only specific times for downloading, and a membership fee required for no downloading restrictions...Cyberbasics - Which has a reasonable amount of trains, wagons and routes, but mostly Dutch and UK. However, the amount is not very broad...H-Zone - Which has more than Cyberbasics, no downloading restrictions or fees....but has everything in RAR files, causing some problems when installing and extracting files, and certainly not making the users job any easier...Train-Simulator.sebastianfrey.de: Which doesn't have a lot to download, has mostly German and other central European stuff, but is good for what it is...And a number of other smaller websites, or at least stuff which I haven't found. Links for the above...UKTrainSim: http://members.uktrainsim.com/index2.php
Cyberbasics: http://www.cyberbasics.com/~msts/treinen.html
H-Zone: http://www.h-zone.ru/index.php?body=downloads&lang=english
Train-Simulator.sebastianfrey.de: http://www.tssf.de/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=indexTell me what you think..

Hi Conductor Blade,You might like to add:-
http://www.msts.nl - Dutch site, but with English language section, lot of downloads
http://www.railpage.org.au/steam4me/trainsim/ - Yuri's Australian site, the rolling stock might not be what you want, but this site has the best set of tutorials on using MSTS, many of them written by Jim Wright (Sniper) on this forum and collated by Yuri.

I hope so, perhaps Jan Willems manage to deliver his R wagons, a series of NMBS-SNCB freight wagons: Rs, Roos, Res. Another package i expect is a number of repaints of the Tremies wagons by Olivier Grognet. If you are into Trainz or BVE i think you'll find more new downloads.André

Our website has a few of the UK GWR rolling stock items if you can't get onto UKTrainsim, built by myself and Robin Howell, as well as a few scenery objects.Though I have recently uploaded most of the stock onto this site too.

Train-sim is the best, but...Sacramento Locomotive Works
Keystone Works
Train Artisans
MSTS Illinois Central
SimTrains
Mad Mike's - some astonishing German Steam (DampfLokomotives)
The Highworth Branch - British, plus some 3D Canvas Plug-ins and Scripts (Know about this one, Fozzie?)
MS TrainStop - has train controller.
Agrupament Ferroviari de Barcelona - Spanish
Ken M's Webpage
Rail Serve
Euro Train Sim - German
Rheilffordd Ffestiniog Railway - UK Narrow Gauge! Some Great locos and cars, and if you can get it from UK Train Sim, one of the best looking freeware routes around, includes people on the station platforms in Victorian Dress! And if that doesn't keep you busy for a while, check out the following "Links" page: Trainsim.org Links PageRob
