LAST EDITED ON Dec-05-02 AT 04:47 AM (EST)

After several months of fighting with the route editor i'm about to succeed finally :
The track laying of my Lehigh Valley route will be finished soon!
I like to do some scenicking while laying track, so after some additional work with the scenery the route will be ready for a beta release by early January. Some specifications about the route:
About 130 miles of mainline, not counted the sidings and yard tracks, nor the double track.
Beautiful Pennsylvania landscape.
Many industries (2 huge zinc mills and 9 cement mills to name just the largest).
Two large yards (Packerton and Tadmor) and many smaller ones.
8 different railroads:
- Lehigh Valley from Catasauqua to Jim Thorpe
- Central of New Jersey Lehigh and Susquehanna division from Catasauqua to Jim Thorpe
- Lehigh and New England mainline from Semmel to Bender's Jct., Bethlehem Branch from Bender's Jct. to Clyde, Catasauqua Branch from Clyde to Catasauqua, Martin's Creek Branch from Bath to Nazareth, original mainline from Slatington to Danielsville
- Northampton and Bath complete line
- Ironton complete line
- Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Bangor and Portland Branch from Bath to Nazareth
- Reading Catasauqua yard
- Chestnut Ridge from New Jersey Zinc Hazard Plant to Eastern Plant at Palmerton
About 15% of the scenery will be completed when the route will be released, so don't expect too much... I could need somebody to do some testing of the route before it is to be released, if somebody is interested just drop me a mail.Werner

RE: Pre-announcement: LEHIGH VALLEY is comming

Great! I'm having at the LNE from Campbell Hall to Nesquehoning (and Mauch Chunck / Jim Thorpe by extension). I still have a place in Jim Thorpe so much of the earea is quite familiar. The Packerton shops in your screen shot look much like the shell of the building that's still there. I could only wish that the Lehigh Gap area were as green as your screen shot. Unfortunately it's still poisoned groud, though quite dramatic. Now - anyone going to tackle the Central of NJ.Regards,Bob Barrows

RE: Pre-announcement: LEHIGH VALLEY is comming

I think somebody should do one of three.
1. The NYS&W line from Little Fairy to Port Jervis with an NJT connection.
2. The whole NJTransit system.
3. NEC from NYC to Boston. csx_dudeRiverline for ever!

RE: Pre-announcement: LEHIGH VALLEY is comming

You are correct about the Gap area being too green, that is one of the things still to tune a bit...
The opposite side (not vissible in the shot) already is filled with dead trees and such on a brownish ground, and wait till you see the Eastern Plant with its huge cinder dumbs! The tracks the NJZ used to dumb the waste are terribly steep, and it looks like driving on the moon, at least in the sim, but i'm sure the reality wasn't any better.Werner
