Jul-21-01, 02:33 PM (EST) "2 great yard maps, and 2 wishes for the game...." First,
here are 2 great links to yard maps, one yard of which has 80 sidings in the center of it!! And these are real world yards. Also, Will it ever be possible for someone to make a 3-D cab, one in which the control levers are at your sideon the GP-38, for example, with the heater infront of you and the window above that? Also, is it possible to make a MOW (maintainance-Of-Way) vehicle - a pick-up that can drive on the rails? And if so, wouldn't it be neat to drive it of the rails onto the roads? Imagine the game expanding from there...! oh, yeah, this is important: CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO MAKE A SCREEN SHOT. i KNOW TO PRESS THE PRTSCRN BUTTON, BUT AFTER THAT, I CAN'T FIND IT IN ANY OF MY GRAPHICS PROGRAMS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT FOLDER THE PIC IS STORING TO. I WANT TO POST A SCREEN SHOT OF MY ROCKPORT YARD IN CLEVELAND ON MY CONRAIL/B&O ROUTE REGION. Here are the yard map links, plus some other great links for you train enthusiasts:

WOW.Thats a hell of a yard, imagine how many shunters they need...has a refueling stop in the middle for the shunters in case they run out of fuel from one end to the other...You probably get different weather at each end!Its so big it has its own congress man and a seat at the UN.Euston

Once you press the screen print button, look in the main train simulator folder for a file scrpg0 (or something close). They number sequentially. Then you need to convert that to a jpeg or a bmp I think, and click the upload file shortcut above the window when you type a message.David Klemm

Aug-14-01, 05:09 PM (EST) 4. "RE: 2 great yard maps, and 2 wishes for the game...." Its really neat---you can cruise by on that road right next to the yard and see everything and numerous moving trains, and when the yard ends see alot of trains waiting to get in. I go railfanning every year just down from Conway on the other side of the river right infront of the CSX (ex-ple) mainline but you can still see trains on the other side Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-14-01, 06:10 PM (EST) 5. "RE: 2 great yard maps, and 2 wishes for the game...." Thank you thank you thank you. I live next door to the conway yards. I have not been able to find an actual map til now, I have been using arial photographs from terraserver.com.As you can see it is going to be quite an endeavor, but I am starting at the yards then working my way to pittsburgh. When I have something playable I'll start posting it, but it'll be a while.Bob Artim
