RE: Anyone heard from Microsoft?

I received an email about research. I am in the database because I used their tech support for a problem with MSTS. They wanted people to attend a forum in Dallas about MSTS. It was (I think) four hours and paid $75.00. You had to have MSTS and at lease one additinal route, either freeware or a commericial product.

RE: Anyone heard from Microsoft?

I was at the research meeting in Chicago on November 16. Without going into detail, the research was conducted by an independant company, not by Microsoft. Ideas were discussed about msts2. The research was very professional. We were video taped for future reference, and the researcher was carefull to write down ideas about train-sim in general. I do not feel comfortable discussing Microsofts ideas, But they were very interested in problems with msts. The ones I brought up were cryptic error messages, esp in the route editor, and if you load an activity and a car is missing you get a message that is almost seems to be written in babylonian. Also I brought up the hesitation in the game engine when it loads more of the route into memory. We were asked for ideas about msts2. I asked for a working turntable and networking capability. As to routes I suggusted a route between Chicago and Omaha, or a fallen flag. The others in the group agreed with these suggustions. I also, as did others in the group, suggusted that if Microsoft really wanted to know what the train-sim community was thinking they needed to have someone motor these forums here. I got the impression that Microsoft really wanted to know what we thought. Of course I also thought that my first wife loved me, and was way off on that so take it for what its worth.
