Unfortunately, MSTS does not allow us to do things like that. Bad enough I think. Only thing you can do is, split your activity so that you have the first leg of your voyage in the first half, the return trip in the second half.
It would be a good thing to be able to switch locos or cabs during an activity. Another good thing would be the ability of working 3D virtual cabs like I saw one on Janes Combat Simulations' flight sim "USAF". The gauges actually work in 3D virtual mode. They are kind of blurry, but you can see and read and operate them.
This way you could better operate a bidirectional engine. I think, these 2D-cabs aren't really state of the art anyways, are they???Cheers,Sebastian---

Well, it could be done in a certain way with a passenger view, if you know what that is. It is the "5" key, but you have to have a passenger view installed in the cab of the last car of your train, AND no other passenger view addition to the .eng or .wag files in your train. The program always takes the first passenger view it finds in your train, starting from the front and displays that with the "5" key.
Look for one version like that in your .wag files.
It is under PassengerView in the middle of the .wag file somewhere.
The endcar might have one already. Try it.
You won't have a full cab, but together with the F5 display and the view out of the rear window, it is pretty close.TedPaint Shop Gopher
