RE: Driving Fast train on old routes

Welcome to the forums.
Well, usually the Train Simulator program will aloow you to operate the Acela or series 2000 only on those lines that are 'electrified', i.e. designated as being equipped for electrically-powered trains. The default versions of the Settle Routes or the Hiatsu are not so designated, so if you create a train with the Acela or Series 2000 on those routes it will not run.
It is sort of possible to drive the Acela or Series2000 on these routes by tweaking the files. The options might include:
1. Going into the route file and changing one line to designate the route as 'electrified'.
2. Alternatively, going into the Acela '.eng' file and changing one line to designate the train as a 'diesel' rather than electric.
Again, welcome to the Forum.
Dan

RE: Driving Fast train on old routes

Compromise! There's a file "innsbrel",that electrifies the default StAnton line, and another "dm_oe" for distant mountains too. That way you can run any electric loco you want.Any help?

RE: Driving Fast train on old routes

Open the "route editor" not the route file, choose your route..click on properties and near the bottom click on electrified...to avoid seeing a wire floating in the air just adjust the wire height to 1000m...
Always works for me on any track....

Are you sure you are using a UNICODE editor?Perhaps you need to do a lot more reading--tutorials, tips, and searching through previous forum posts--before you start tweaking files or using the editors...PaulSDriving Fast train on old routes – image 4
