A post about the age survey recalled some good memories about my past. These are the refrigerator cars (see the images attached) I used to service and travel/work with some 14 years ago. Thanks to being a mechanic of this train, I was able to see many beautiful hidden and known places of the former Soviet Union. Does anyone know if these cars are developed for the MSTS? I couldn't find anything in the library. Thanks, Eugene.
Greetings, I have not seen any of these cars made yet, either here or at the Russian MSTS site (http://www.trainsim.ru/en/index.shtml). I would imagine there would be interest in them if someone were to make them. I know I would. I do have a question, are these cars generally run in groups of 3's? I was in Russia a few years ago and saw cars like this but in groups of 3's, a powered car with a storage car on each side. Thanks and good day!Michael
Thanks, Michael!I am not sure how the cars setup is organized now, but when I was there it was the following:Overall the section/train (of Bryansk BMZ plant) consisted of 5 cars. 2 cargo cars + 1 service car in the middle + 2 cargo cars. The cargo cars looked exactly like the main car on the lower picture. They contained a refrigerator equipment, compressors etc., and of course, the space for the perishable goods storage. The Service car (you can see a part of it at the left side of the lower image) was a place where we "lived", and also contained the electrical and diesel equipment. There were several German made refrigerator sections that were used on the Russian Railroads, but I do not remember their manufacturers names. I would love to use them in MSTS, but, unfortunately, do not have enough time to start loco/cars modelling.Best regards, Eugene.
