RE: Must have file suggestions ???

There is always one way to see what has been the most popular whilst you have been away (welcome back, by the way)Go into Search File Libraries in the downloads, put an * in the filename box, sort file list by Downloads in desending order and you will get a good idea within the first 20 pages or so of what we have all really enjoyed since you left.Bill

RE: Must have file suggestions ???

In the last year, or even just the last few months, some outstanding routes have been put up in the library. The CSX Flordia Funnel, Raton Pass, the ADFRR (fantasy, prototypical), the San Diego and Arizona, just to name a few. Also the CSX A Line and CSX Blur Ridge sub are great routes, though not fully done with scenery yet.As for scenery, trains, and rolling stock, well, that depends on what you like. I enjoy running modern diseals with intermodel, and there is a lot of great diesels and intermodel stuff now. But regardless of what you like, lots of great stuff has been added to the file library. It all just depends on what you like. Take some time and go look for yourself, don't reply on others to pick stuff out for you. Part of the fun of having the sim, is finding new stuff to play with.On the payware front, 3dtrainstuff has released a Cajon Route, and Mapleleaftracks have released Kicking Horse Pass and Sandpatch, all outstanding routes well worth the money.ChrisIt's not a game, it's a way of life.

Hmm..I'd recommend PO&N, Full Bucket Line, SeaView2, CSX Florida Funnel Route, gemegav2.zip; the Big Boy steam loco; all the patches at M$'s MSTS site; all them TTX spine cars; Fozzy's K-36, Marias Pass 3; and NALW's extensive Amtrak trainsets....Did I miss anything ?Must have file suggestions ? – image 4

RE: Must have file suggestions ???

The articulated autoracks are superb, and the U23B skins make a great all round locomotive choice as do the various Dash 8 and Dash 8W skins. I also recommend Raton Pass, an excellent choice in routes. The SD24s look really appropriate on Raton as well.

RE: Must have file suggestions ???

I second the PO&N, Jim keeps making it better all the time. I am running beta 6 and except for some trackage ending in the middle of a field without warning, it is quite nice. And then there is Rich Garbers Ohio Rail. I have downloaded version 10 and find it to be quite nice too. Lots o' room to move about, but samll enough to get a lot of switching too.

RE: Must have file suggestions ???

Oh boy, oh boy !Get yourself a 120+ Mb Hard Drive, a week's Holiday and start DOWNLOADING. I am not going to make a single suggestion, not wanting to offend any of the creators of the many EXCELLENT FREE ADD-ONs available in the File Library. Everbody has got his/her own Favourites, too many to mention here ! Browsing through recent Messages will also give you many Screenshots of Routes having been "In the News" !

If you've been gone that long, one good place to start browsing for routes is here in the Route Specification Forum. It is not a comprehensive list yet, but has some good selections and some good information about what is there.
