My install hangs at 18% since upgrading to XP. Error message 'Setup encountered disk error whilst writing hhp_deadman.wav' happens every time. I have searched Knowledge Base' and am now stuck. Any ideas?
> Setup encountered disk error whilst writing hhp_deadman.wav You "UPGRADED" to WIN XP ? Dodgy doing that at the best of times ! The previous File System was no doubt FAT32 and is now what ? WIN XP prefers NTFS.Sherlock Holmes would have deducted that your problem is the INSTALL trying to WRITE to your Hard Drive, not READING from the MSTS CD.Un-Install MSTS and do a thorough CLEAN-UP of your Hard Drive to find any dodgy Sectors on it, DE-FRAG and for good measure run SCANDISK as well.Re-Install MSTS and all should be well. If not, get yourself a new Hard Drive !
