Added this last one after the initial post (this is the EDIT). Got a good shot between units to show the coupling and steps.Something CN this way comes… SCREENSHOTS! – image 10
Oh, what the heck ... here's one of her earin her keep!!
(and I admit ... I sharpened this one once)Something CN this way comes… SCREENSHOTS! – image 11For the uneducated, she is a Canadian National Railway GP38-2W. This was the model that introduced the Comfort (Safety) Cab to the railroads. CN unit 5560 was the first unit introduced in 1973. Most of these units are still in service.Modelling is almost complete. I still have some details I want to tend to. The model currently sits at 7308 polys and uses ten texture maps. Of those, five are 1024 textures.Textures also need to be finished. What you see here are basic working textures so I can make sure everything goes the way I want it to. I also need to do the ENG file (only very basic now) plus complete a semi-custom (read heavily modified TA SD40-2) cabview for the comfort cab view.My plans when this unit is completed is to do the simple conversion of this unit into a GP40-2W (same basic unit, a few simple detail changes). Once that is complete, I will stretch the GP40-2W into a new SD40-2W. Yes, the Safety Cabs are comin!! I hope you enjoy these pics for now. Model should be released soon I hope.Ray

Looks great Ray! Reminds me of the days when these babys ruled the tracks!
Can't wait to see more pics and pics of the Gp40 and SD40!
I was in the cab of 4799 or 89 at CN safety day at Taschearau yard. Along with SD75, GP9, AMT F59. Keep up the great work!
