Ok i just ordered the sandpatch route and i was just wondering about how long it will take to get here because i just cant wait .anyone who has already got this route plez tell me about long it took u to get it? thanx
You'll have to forgive Kevin, he doesn't like stupid questions. But if you just ordered the route, I assume you ordered it from the Maple Leaf website, which clearly states how long it may take for Sandpatch to arrive. Nobody here works for MLT, so I think you are asking the wrong group of people. It will get there when it gets there. Those of us here in the US, recieved our copy at different times, due to different circumsatnces. Not trying to come down on you, but your answer is at the same place your ordered it from. And I wouldn't go getting too excited about Sandpatch, it is a great route, but at just under 60 miles long, it gets old fairly quickly. I ran it all the way thru the first day I got it, in just under 2 hours, and now I run it maybe 2 or 3 times a month, but it helps having 35 other routes to play with.Hang in there.....it will come soon enough. It's not a game, it's a way of life.
gee keven its kinda hard to download things when ur on a 56k modem. i mean god not everyone has frikin dsl or what ever its called. and thank you svts i can wait for it. what r u talkin bout 60 mile it had better not be 60 miles! oh well i guess it just depends on how good it is
> And I wouldn't go getting too excited about Sandpatch, it is a great route, but at just under 60 miles long, it gets old fairly quickly. While it is true the route is only around sixty miles or so long, it is definately a matter of opinion as to how quickly it becomes 'old'!! I also have the route, and have had it since shortly after its release, and still do not find it old. The track layout of this piece of railroad is great and lends itself to operation fairly well, plus the quality of work MLT has put into it is extraordinary. In fact, I use KHP and Sandpatch as the setting for most screenies I do.As I said, it's in the eye of the beholder. I personally grew tired of Cajon much quicker, and it is a huge route. Nothing to see but desert and those overscaled signals (those things drive me frickin nuts ... I much prefer finescale. I got the track monitor if I need help.).My top three favorite routes ...1. Kicking Horse Pass 2. Sandpatch 3. Marias Pass 3My two bits.Ray PS: To answer your question, I had it in under a week. But then, I live halfway between Toronto and Ottawa (home of MLT).
Yes the scenery is fantastic on Sandpatch. They really got the feel of the area down. The track work is good also. Then it falls apart in a hurry. There are several major flaws in it that need to be addressed. Need to isolate branch lines and some sidings. Never ending red signals at each end unless a specific path is chosen. The blow your horn or you lose in places that I cannot find a reason for or at bridges.3DTS addressed their problems quickly, MLT has not. The patch they released was worthless. Until they begin addressing these issues I can not recommend purchasing Sandpatch.Cajon is also considerably easier to create activities for. There have been few surprises or "odd things".My 4 cents worth.Kevin Arceneaux gdapia
I find all the US payroutes beyond reproach! They are all far better the the European stuff, and all perform brilliantly! You bloody hypocryte!ROFLMAO!David
I fail to grasp your point. I have never compared US to European routes, you are the only one that does. You are just a bloody ass.Kevin Arceneaux gdapia
I feel your pain Robert on having a 56 K connection. I live on a Army base, and we don't yet have DSL here from Quest or Cox. And yes, I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but the route is actually about 56 miles, with about another 10 or so miles on deadend branches.Don't misread my getting old quick comment, it is a great route, no doubt, and as I said before, I still run it 2 or 3 times a month, but I like variety. I can't run the same route over and over again. The sounds and scnery are outstanding, but as Keving touched on in comment #6, there is work that needs to be done. my biggest problem, and I think Kevin's as well is when building a custom activity, AI traffic gets a never ending red...on a doubletrack mainline. In short, it is close to impossible to put together a good activity with AI traffic. It has been done, but only after a lot of trail and error, and countless hours watching the 2-D playback and editing this and that.MLT is able to make great routes like this, because they are shorter. If they were longer, it would take them longer to make them and release them. Enjoy Sandpatch!ChrisIt's not a game, it's a way of life.

RE: SANDPATCH QUESTION
Took me about two weeks to get my copy, then again I mailed in the payment from NC, they processed it and sent a CD from there.Jake Mensel Sandpatch Dispatch _________________________:::CRUNCH:::Was that a car?!?!?!?!?!?!
