RE: Latest NALW Release is...

Can you NALW guys tell me weather NJT is using the F40 or the GP38 for the diesel lines we have here? I was told by a friend that they where the 38's, but now that I get a look at the F40's....

RE: Latest NALW Release is...

Excellent work! Finally a proper control cab car.Is there any easy way to modify this cab so I can use it (and the sounds etc) on other cab cars (such as the Bombardier Bi-levels that are out there)?Again, great work.

I'm not from NALW, but....Yes and no Dave. Jon and I were tinkering with the set and the GO cars for a while yesterday, and while I got the cab to work with the BBD bilevels, Jon couldn't get the cab to import into the Cab Editor.Maybe one of the guys from NALW (Michael? Any one else?) can tell us where we went wrong?Ah crap....I forgot something.....Great work guys!!!Dan

RE: Latest NALW Release is...

Thanks Dan, I actually ran an interesting consist today, the MBTA Cab Car, a few bilevels and an F59PH. Kind of looked like an old consist GO used before they had bi-level cab cars and had to use single level cars as cabs (of course it also wouldn't have been an F59PH back then either).Dave

Yeah, before my time unfortunately (well not quite, but I was only 3 when the first Bi-Level cab cars were delivered).I should try to get a retro screen shot or something, although I suppose there aren't any GP GP40TC's lurking around here anywhere Here's a link of what I mean though for those who have never seen it:http://www.transit.toronto.on.ca/transit.cfm?tt=gotransit&id=2508It's the pic at the bottom of the page.Dave

I'm sure that one of the already available GP40's would be good to re-paint.. not sure what difference's were between the 40's and TC's... sounds like a good project *~þHÃt*Rat~**~classic american playa~*

RE: Latest NALW Release is...

Hey Dave, what are you doing posting my articles around the Internet! ;-D And also, where exactly did you see this "sight"??? Any photos available?BNSF4723: The GP40 is it the process of being done.....The TC's, however, are a completely different beast. The cab, body and trucks of a GP40 (with a shortened nose), on the frame of an SD40, with a small box on the end of the long hood for the HEP engine and generator. They are distinctive, to say the least. They're still roaming around on Amtrak somewhere....Dan

Cab editor apparently will not work with aliased images. It crashes. (unless someone knows something else)...A new techdoc has been posted at NALW about cab aliasing and using other cabs in locomotives...Glad you're enjoying the set...Michael MacFall

Hey,I just want to say great job. These are great cars. I live across the street from an MBTA layover yard and you really got it perfect. Thnaks for the great work!Do you have any other MBTA projects in the works? I don't want to be greedy, but I love your work and I would love to see what else you have. (I have all the other downloads, by the way.)Thanks,NYNEPS. I forgot to say how great the locomotives are. I wake up with them every morning when they roll them out of the layover yard and now I get to run them myself. Thanks again!

HI Mike,Spent most of my many years in the Boston area. I do not have the talent or ability to do what has been done with the MBTA stuff. I just am so grateful that you guys with the talent do it and give it to klunks like myself. Thank you all again.

Thanks too!

Yes, absolutely, thank you all for your kind and gracious comments. I'd also like to thank all of my fellow NALW partners, as well as our fans and this community, for their talent, support and help through the assembly of this project. This project has been in the works for some time now, and I personally cannot tell you how happy I am to see it so well-received.Thank you all!!!!Michael MacFall

At last count we were at 480 downloads since Tuesday morning, and our estimates are somewhere around 200 on the web site. We had 300 hits on our MBTA product page from the time of the release until it was posted on Train-sim.
