RE: SD40-2 Cabview Mod

In view of what's happing in the Washington DC area I would be very careful of writing ANYTHING that mentions sniper rifle. Big Brother may be watching.

RE: SD40-2 Cabview Mod

It's not going to be available. It's mine. All mine. MINE I tell you!! Ray
PS: Just kidding. I'd like to finish it up over the weekend. For some reason the independent brake lever isn't working (??) plus I have a few ideas I want to try. This is my first attempt at modding a cabview, so learning as I go! Soon as I can, I'll get it out!!

LAST EDITED ON Oct-18-02 AT 06:03 PM (EDT)

Howdy all.*** NOTE I POSTED THIS IN THE CAB DESIGN FORUM ALSO ***I'm working on a CP Rail mod for the new SD40-2 cabview. I've got the nose color changed ok, but have run into a small snag. Everything works fine except the independent brake lever. No matter what I do, I cannot seem to get the thing to move. (No animation will show in the cabview)Anyone have any ideas??SD40-2 Cabview Mod – image 8Ray
PS: If anyone wonders, I'm trying to use them with MLT's CP Rail SD40's from the KHP route. The cabview is aliased via the CPRequired folder.

The original had 1, 3.862 and 8.8 for the x,y and z values for the forward view which is the prototypical position. Kuju must have shifted the view to allow more of the track to be visibile. The vertical handrail stanchion visible in the front window should be aligned over the right-hand rail.Conn McCarthy

RE: SD40-2 Cabview Mod

I'm using TGATool2, Corel Draw 8, Paint Shop Pro 7, and WinMakeAce.I use TGATool2 to extract the graphic and alpha channel, Corel Draw to generate a new bitmap overlay for the nose (I am very familiar with this program ... that's why I use it for this step), PSP to fine tune and reinsert the alpha channel and WinMakeAce to convert it back to MSTS ace format. The way I've done it with Corel, I have a vector graphic that I can use to easily generate any nose color I want!! All I need to do is flood fill it, convert to a bitmap graphic and add details using a paint program. Then I overlay it on the old nose, group everything and export as a 1024x1024 targa bitmap.SD40-2 Cabview Mod – image 10Ray
