I had earlier posted a message saying that the latest version of the Mesaba Electric interurban route was available for dowload at:
http://206.103.49.193/msts/mesaba.zip
I neglected to mention that in addition to it being a 69MB download, it also requires XTracks 3.2 or better, tsection.dat build 08 or better, and all six default routes on your system. The trackwork is complete, but the town you start out in (Hibbing) is far from complete. Please take the included activity, as it throws the proper switches for you.

RE: Mesaba Electric further info

Hi Dave,Thanks for the upgrade. I like the Meseba from the start.
Well even with a cable connection, the download was a long road to walk. About 27 Kbs. About 30 minutes.I got some errors at startup:
First failed to load shop_postoffice.s and no extended data file for shop_postoffice.s.
This is caused by the fact that Installme.bat tries to copy these files from USA1. The files reside in Europe1. Just reinstalled MSTS today, so I have fresh default folders. Always good for testing Further on no extended data file for gr2l100mstrt.s and failed to load gr2l100mstrt.s and some other of these road sections.
The most funny thing is that the road is showed. The problem is caused by the fact that these road sections are not copied to the Global\Shapes folder.
I have copied them manually and now everything is running fine.Great job Dave, thanks again. I will happy run for hours on this route. Oh and when someone is asking, why this complaining not by mail? Well, first of all, it is not meant to be complaining. Some little quircks that need to be ironed out that is all.
Second, someone else can run in the same problems, so I provide a solution here.Dick van den HovenMesaba Electric further info – image 2

Thanks Dick! This helped me resolve the identical problems, something I would not have been able to do on my own (lack of knowledge!!)I like the Mesaba too and wanted to have it to run the trolleys on. When I encountered these errors I was concerned but now I'll be able to have a go at this route.Again, thanks for posting this...it DOES help others.bill

RE: Mesaba Electric further info

Okay...my turn to help. While exploring the Mesaba Route, I found that there are several other of the shape files that need to get manually installed. The files are more of those similar to gr2l100mstrt.s and I got several error messages saying these track sections weren't found (or something to that extent..). The fix was to go into the Routes directory and do a search using the wildcard gr*.* (In XP you can merely type in the gr and any file using gr will pop up -- grass, gray, etc...but you'll find the proper shape files all together. Highlight them, copy them, and paste them into the /global/shapes folder like Dick mentions above. There are about 6 total files I think.bill

RE: Mesaba Electric further info

Can you folks give me the coordinates (use the zero key when in running) so I can find these things and probably get them fixed?

RE: Mesaba Electric further info

Hi,Dave, coordinates? No. It was direct at the start in Hibbings. I hope that I spell that name correct.
I started the Activity and got the message about the shop_postoffice.s
But I don't think that for the road sections coordinates are necessary. Just change the installme.bat so that it copies the road section to the Global\Shapes folder.
And about the shop_postoffice.s and .sd just change the installme.bat so it copies from Europe1.

RE: Mesaba Electric further info

I know I asked for help before, but I found some more problems that I solved! Around Virginia and Buhl, MSTS asks for a housesemi_four.s and extended shape file. These are easily found in a search in the routes folder. Just trying to help before you start to load up and get all these error messages. Hope this helps, and thanks for all your help!
