I have just built a new PC, as I am on a computer Tecnnicains course, just started it. What I found is on the menu screens the screen always flickers and is a mess. This happens at the menu, where you go and pick what train you want to use, and it flicks garbage on the screen. The game itself works, but the menus end up messy and full of garbage, what is causing it, any ideas? My specs are1.2 gbyte AMD Duron
Onboard Geforce 2 mx + onboard Geforce sound
256 DDR ram
40 gbyte HD
Motherboard is an ASUS A7N266-VMAt home at the moment I have a 450 PIII
a 128 vibra sound card
Geforce 2 MX-200
256 megs SD ram
10 Gybte HDAnd it runs perfectlyI do find the new PC I can run MSTS with all the sliders maxed and runs fairly well. I think MSTS must set the settings automatically because the default settings on the comptuer at home are much different than my computer on my course, which it seemed to automatically set at almost max settings. The drivers are pretty much up to date, so should not be a real problem.

RE: My display in the menus screen flickers

Hmmm, you're gonna be a technician you'd better learn how to spell it, otherwise people will laugh at you!
I dunno what to tell you, I read the specs on MX cards at places like www.guru3d.com and www.tomshardware.com ,and went with the Ti instead cuz it seemed like the Ti series, altho a lot more expensive than the MX, was actually a better deal in the dollars to performance ratio.
That said, depending on which driver and how the Nvidia display is set up you can get that, the first thing is to see if FSAA is enabled, forced, whatever, and try turning that off. I had a GEFORCE 2 GTS/PRO and had trouble with every driver written after TNT 21.81, my current Ti-4400 has no problems with the latest drivers.
The only other thing I can think of is to run the troubleshooter, click on Start, Run, Microsoft Games, Train Simulator, Troubleshooting, and check the boxes for text blocky or text distorted and see if that fixes it. First I've heard of an onboard MX card having that problem, but maybe all these guys with the MX cards are keeping it a secret!
