I have recently started adding some European add-on routes. On some of these routes my train will be proceeding along and suddenly the engine and some wagons will start "bouncing" or twisting sideways, often resulting in a derailment, but not always. The latest route on which this occurs is "Haute Savoir", a French route. This behaviour always occurs at the same point(s) in a route.Does anyone know how to fix this or can you point me to an article that tells how to fix it?

RE: Skewed trains

Sounds like an early xtracks feature, that affects other routes. That is exactly what I got after using xtraxs version 2, on default routes. I am told that xtraxs 3.1 solves the problem, but I haven't had time to install it.David

RE: Skewed trains

Hmmm...now that you mention it, I did try Xtracks a few months ago and then gave up on it. I wonder if installing the latest version of Xtracks would solve the problem? Does anyone have any thoughts on the idea?Thank-you for this, it is the best suggestion I have had!

RE: Skewed trains

It may do. I installed xtraxs 2.0 for the S&C 1930s route, and it caused loads of derailments on my default route activities.Consequently I deleted the S&C 1930s route, and xtraxs 2, now everything runs OK. I am told that xtraxs 3 solves all problems, but I haven't installed it yet. Too busy, with stuff that works.David

>David I installed Xtracks 3.x hoping it would correct any problem the earlier version might have caused and it did not solve the problem. Back where I started.Athlon 1.6 ghz
GeForce 4 video card with latest drivers and 64mb memory
Windows 98
256mb memory
80gb hard driveI will be proceeding along a line, always near a station, when the engine or wagons will reach a certain point and start going sideways for a bit. This usually results in a derailment, but sometimes it recovers and the train carries on. I have not seen this happen on American made routes, only on European ones. It is hard to believe I am the only one who has this problem; if so, something is really strange with my system. The problem always occurs at the same position(s) on the route.

RE: Skewed trains

XTracks is no universal solution to this kind of problems.
Have you tried contacting the route author directly?

RE: Skewed trains

I have had no problems of any kind with the european routes. The problem is xtraxs full stop. I will not install it again after all the problems I got with it. Luckily I only had to reinstall my NEC route, so it could have been worse.David

RE: Skewed trains

How do I purge the damage Xtracks did? I installed a route called "Natural King" about a week ago and it shows the problem coming out of "New Nil" (?) station. The old Xtracks was installed a few months ago.I guess my real question is, do I have to replace all routes or just the affected ones?
