Is there ANYONE still getiing ADFRR errors ? HELP

Hey.I am still getting a couple of errors. One is a missing shape file which is a track piece ( dont remember which one )Also off in the mountains as I leave Circus Yards ( Now owned by Canadian Paciric by the way ) Anyways there are a couple " holes " in the sceneryBy holes I mean it looks like terrain that you are about to put a tunnel through ...you know that large square white void ....The reason I am asking is because I have installed MANY Routes, and generally do not have issues. This Route seemed to be the same until I got the " Missing .S file message "The system locked up after I hit Yes to continueI had saved just prior so I went in and tried againThis time " No Error "......wooohooo right ??WRONG !!This time I got the "Send Message to Microsoft Pop up of Death "Any ideas...thanksTim Kent

Tim, did you get a specific .s file that was missing? If you did, and would post the name here, it can probably be fixed.The 'hole in the mountain' has happened to me on occasion after I've been running for a couple of hours. I attributed this to low resources on my machine (p3 800 with 32mg ATI) and as soon as I rebooted, didn't get it again. There may be something else happening though. I used a very large piece of patch on that particular tunnel (just learning how to make them) and haven't gone back yet to fix it. That may take care of the issue in a further update.

Unfourtunatly I am at work right now, so I cant give you the specific .s File,BUT I can tell you it was a track piece ( yes I have Xtracks )As for being low on resources with the terrain problem...resources should not be an issue as I can see the " white void " as soon as I leave Circus City Yards in the beginning of the activity.System specs areAthalon 1.4
256 MB RAM

Tim, one thing that came up before with someone. This was made with Xtracks 3.0. I downloaded 3.1 right before I was bundling this up and was afraid to install it so I wouldn't mess something up at the last moment.The other person tried temporarily substituting tsection.dat V5 in place of the version 6 and said it worked. He then went back and put the tsection.dat V6 back in and it kept working. I don't understand, but it might be worth a try if you feel like messing with it.And no, I wouldn't think resources would be a problem on your system. I usually don't have this happen until I get around the corner by the West Helper Division and it only does it while it's loading everything up, if it does it at all. That is one thing I think I can fix a little later.Thanks for trying it, and I'll get back on later this evening and see if we can give it a go Thanks again

The hole in the mountain is only momentously apparent for a short distance and then there is just a white outline. I have run the route through 'seamfiller' and it found nothing to alter.Bill

Great route by the way! However, I also noticed a couple of white holes on both sides of the track somewhere between No Water and Jacks Meadow.If I see other strange things I'll let you know.

jean, thanks for both the compliment and the problem. If you think about it and could give me a Milemarker number, maybe I could find something. I've puttered back and forth between the two with a speeder and couldn't see anything. I only have a 32mg video card and it may cover up some mistake somewhere.Thanks again

Well I am back BUT only for a quick second, but with good newsI need to get back to my activity I have been testingThe tsection update seems to have fixed the problemThanks for the suggestionThis is just about where it would show errorsThis was USUALLY the last thing I would seeNow I get to travel more of the routeThis is the 3rd time since Circus City that I have seen that CP Grain Train in the background.....very cool the way the track weaves back and fourth so you can see where you have been I hope for a ADFRR 2 sometime in the future....It's giving Ohio Rail a run for it's money !!LaterTim Kent

i've 1 problem with ADFRR route just after i installed it but i went to the all default routes and found the missing files and since then i've had no problems with the route. great job robert

Both Eddie and Tim, Thanks for all the trouble you've put into this .. I'm just glad it's finally working. Sorry about the missing files. It was a greenhorns error Can't blame anybody else!Tim, the pictures show the very thing I was looking for when I made this serpentine section. I wanted to either see myself in the distance or be able to watch other ones across the ravine.btw, You wouldn't believe how familiar that CN looks on there. That was the only pair of engines when I first started this that could walk a good sized consist up the grade. Kind of like coming home. Besides, that's what a Fictional Railroad is for: you tailor it to yourself.btw. There's no competing with Ohio Rail (thankfully for me, 'cause I'd come out below the bottom). That is one very polished, and enjoyable RR.Glad you all enjoy it: I've had my fun with it

I just installed the route and am getting "train world initializtion" errors upon trying to start the route.....have not found help on this yet...any suggestions????

Tim, Delete the adfrr.bat! It was just a little 4 line backup batch I used to keep going when the route editor crashed, and I neglected to take it out. If you have already clicked on it go to D:\games\TsStuff\Backups for TS and delete that entire folder it's just taking up room.I don't know how you got it running, but I'm not complaining one bit

Did you double click on the the installme.bat? If no, do so.Did it work for 2 or 3 minutes? In no, go to end. If yes..Do you have XTracks installed? If no, you need to download and install it. If yes..Do you have XTracks3.1? If no, see above. If yes, which \global\tsection.dat do you have v5 or v6. If you have v6, try substituting v5 and see if it starts up. If no, go to next step. If yes, then try putting v6 back in and see if it works. If not..END:
What windows version do you have?
Also,go into explorer and find your Trainsim\route\adfrr folder and report back how many files you have. (there should be in the vicinity of 25-27)I'll do the best I can (with help from everyone) to trace the problem down.Sorry it isn't working
