Well, it happened. While I was trying to download the Cumbres & Toltec route, train-sim.com's website experienced trouble and I've got a partial download. Now what?Do I have "orphan files" cluttering up somewhere? Do I simply delete the folder and all the "orphans" will be taken out with it?Andre Ming
Until you unzip and install the route, the only new file that you've downloaded is CTSRR.zip. The interruption only means that you received a partial file, rather than the entire thing. I've seen a couple of threads here about resuming downloads, but I seem to remember a situation where I lost my connection during a download and was able to pick up where I left off, with no apparent problems. I don't know if you'll be able to do that, but I'd suggest going back to the file library and starting over without deleting what's been downloaded so far. Maybe it'll pick up where you left off. If not, you can just replace the partial .zip file with the new one.Andy
Here's a crazy thought...use the help that's provided in the file library. On the main file library page there's a menu bar at the bottom; one of the items is "Download Resuming", which will take you here:http://www.train-sim.com/cgi/kds/main/glue/help.htm#resuming
I plead "guilty" on all counts. There's a lot to learn here, about this sim, and about this website. Sometimes I get in too big a hurry.Mea culpa.Andre "Most Humbled" Ming
