Hi!Has anyone come up with a good way to "turn around" a train with a loco on each end without stopping and restarting the simulation in a different direction. Also, the wipers on my Dash 9 do not work completely.Thanks.
Yes! Sort of....As you can see in this pic its from the second locomotive. If the firt locomotive doesn't have a view from the "5" key, then you can get the view from the other locomotive if it DOES have a view from the "5" key.In other words, set your passenger view to the other locomotive.I found this out by accident by the way. I was running a Chessie SD40 (without a "5" view) and a CLW GP30 (with a "5" view). The pics are dark (it swas an early moring run) but I think you can get the idea.GH
If you are asking 'is there a way to move the cabview to a second locomotive with out leaving the sim', then I regret that the answer is 'no'. As for the windshield wipers, it seems that the moving wipers are not visible from inside the cab, but are visible from outside. There is also a short discussion of seeing the wipers, over at the official MSTS web site FAQ. They say 'not possible', so I assume it's a known limitation in the program. Dan
It should be possible theoretically. Not that I have tried it but John Fowlis has with his Western Coast Express. There is one engine on one end and a cab-car on the other. The cabcar .wag file is most likely equipped with an inside view and when there is no other inside view, the one in the cab-car will work when you go backwards and push the 5 key. You should download it and experiment. What do you think, Kevin? Ted
Could do it. The only way would be with a passenger view in the last engine, offhand I cannot remember the order for pass views. I would have to make sure that that was the only pass view in the train. Plus you would not have no animation in this view.Kevin Arceneaux gdapia
Kevin, Just had a look at J.F's set. It is as I remember. The cab car has a passenger (inside) view, no controls but if one uses the F5 one has all that is necessary. And yes, only one passenger (inside) view per consist. Meaning that only the first one is active. It works. Ted
