Jul-06-01, 10:23 PM (EST) "problem with train operations window" Hi,
When I open the train operations window after I have coupled to a train, I can't see all the cars I have coupled to sometimes. If it is a long enough train (more than 8 or 10 cars) I see the back car and maybe 5 or 6 more but when i push the arrow button to scroll forward to see more cars, nothing happens. For example I hooked up to 11 cars, but then in the train operations window I could only see cars 10 to 4. I couldn't see 3,2,1,0, or the engine! Is this a bug in the game or am I doing something wrong???

Please help. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-07-01, 11:13 AM (EST) 1. "RE: problem with train operations window" This question has been posted in the past. If you press the control button and the right or left arrow key, you can move to the next car. You can move the view to see the end car or any in between. I hope this helps. Jul-07-01, 03:01 PM (EST) 2. "RE: problem with train operations window" Bonebanker, I think you are thinking of the outside views (F2,F3) I am talking about the train operations window. (F9) The one where you can couple and uncouple cars in, and set handbrakes. That's where my problem is, not with the views but with the train operations window. I can not see all the cars i have coupled to in the train operations window (F9).

Thanks for trying Bonebanker but that not what i was looking for.

Jul-07-01, 05:03 PM (EST) 4. "RE: problem with train operations window" Piano,Are you putting your mouse cursor on the little bar under the train operations window and sweeping right and left? That always permits you to see your entire train. All it is, I suppose, is a scroll bar.Bill Cline Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-07-01, 05:11 PM (EST) 5. "RE: problem with train operations window" scroll bar isn't working either, it's not a scroll bar, it's not is shmoll bar, IT'S KUJU BUG, a B-U-G. If those guys ever bother to read the TS forums here is my message to them: move your bud and start working on the patches. Don't know about others but I feel I've been robbed by a bunch of thieves. Jul-07-01, 03:38 PM (EST) 3. "RE: problem with train operations window" There is a similar problem discussed in another thread above. Does this happen in one particular activity or all the time? Even in Explore?bob Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-07-01, 06:09 PM (EST) 6. "RE: problem with train operations window" I tried moving the scroll bar, but that doesn't work.
It happens in all activities. It might work in explore mode but I have never tried to couple in explore mode, only in activites.
Has anyone else had this problem?? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-08-01, 09:49 AM (EST) 7. "RE: problem with train operations window" Sorry about the misunderstanding. This is very strange. I have not had a problem with this window. I have been able to see all the cars in the consist. There is obviously a bug in the way the game is running on your computer. You might have to re-install the game. If you do, I suggest running scan disk and defrag first. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-08-01, 06:31 PM (EST) 8. "RE: problem with train operations window" I doubt there is anything wrong with your install, as I have seen this problem reported before. I experienced the same problem on the Marias Pass in explore mode. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-08-01, 10:09 PM (EST) 9. "RE: problem with train operations window" LAST EDITED ON Jul-08-01 AT 10:11 PM (EST)I figured out when I couple with the back end of the loco the f9 screen SEEMS to works fine. But when i couple with the front end of the loco (to where i am facing the cars) it doesn't work, I can't see all the cars i have coupled to in the f9 window.
Another bug to put on the list.
Thanks for your help guys, I wish there was a way to fix this though!!

Jul-09-01, 01:08 AM (EST) 10. "RE: problem with train operations window" Simply put: the driver's locomotive in MSTS cannot push. If you couple anything to the front of the train, you can't go anywhere with it.I've seen the same bug, and it's really stupid, because there have already been two occasions where I've wanted to push a set of cars, but can't.Oh well. Jul-09-01, 10:21 PM (EST) 11. "RE: problem with train operations window" Thanks, now I know it's just not my computer messing up.
So you can't push anything with the front of the engine, (like you said) how stupid. They better come out with a patch soon with a fix to this and other things. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-15-01, 11:06 AM (EST) 12. "RE: problem with train operations window" Sorry I'm late with this response, but I just stumbled on a work around last night. Scroll as far as you can. The last car that you see will have its coupler free even though you know it's coupled to more cars. Double click on that free coupler and the next cars in the string will magically appear. Aug-15-01, 12:49 PM (EST) 13. "RE: problem with train operations window" Cool, But does that uncouple the car you double clicked the coupler on? Even if it does , atleast there is a way to uncouple the cars. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-18-01, 02:10 PM (EST) 16. "RE: problem with train operations window" You bet they uncouple! Then you must go back a re-couple. It appears there are more things wrong than right with this software. Fairly typical though. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-18-01, 10:46 PM (EST) 17. "RE: problem with train operations window" I've noticed this too on explore and in activities. It was when I first installed the game. 5 installs later, tho, I can't recall having this problem. Heh Heh- Any problems uncoupling? I've had to double-click couplers 7 times before they let go- on level grade! Putting a bit of strain on 'em while d-clicking helped!Cheers,TM Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-19-01, 11:10 AM (EST) 18. "RE: problem with train operations window" I tried reinstalling the program to get rid of the scrolling problem in F9, but it made no difference.
Yes, I have the uncoupling problem, too which I posted elsewhere and to which I have gotten no reply. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-19-01, 01:41 PM (EST) 19. "RE: problem with train operations window" I have to retract my statement that after 5 installs the problem of incomplete train view in Train Ops went away--IT DIDN'T! Last night I had a train of 20 Chip cars and it only showed 8or9 again.....Oh well, Tim Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
