He made a wise decision, most folks would prefer Hell than bow to a master, the irony is everyone that ever lived will bow to Jesus. I think the Muslims, Buddists, Hindi, and about 500 other religious groups might give you an arguement on that one.

And you know Paul, the only thing that seprates 'Christians' from all the other 'Religions' is that all the other people, these people 'Worship' are dead and the 'Christ' or 'Jesus' is alive.

I know, and they all have one thing in common, they reject the message of the bible. All religions teach a
code of ethics or some rituals you must perform to be accepted by God. The bible message is man is a fallen
race destined for judgement and can do nothing to save himself. Since God isn't willing that any should
perish, he provided a means of redemption. God struck up a friendship with Abraham and promised that
ALL nations of the world would be blessed through his descendants. True to his word, his son Jesus became
THE one and only sacrifice for the sins of the whole world, now ANYONE, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME can be reconciled
to God through faith in the shed blood Christ. Man made religion commands God to accept all people of all
faiths but the bible teaches just the opposite, in fact, the first murder recorded in the bible was over this
very issue. God said without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin, so Abel offered a lamb while
Cain decided his own way was good enough and offered a fruit cake. John hit the nail on the head, Jesus is
alive and there's a mountain of evidence higher than Everest that screams to anyone who will listen, he rose
again and is about to return.Jesus - "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me".

A fruit cake?! A FRUIT CAKE!? and you people wonder why we dont take you seriously anymore. Try studing some history, Christanity was a man made religion, like any you care to name. Its the old Roman Senate, in a different set of clothes. Its all an excercise in power and control over the people. The shedding of blood is neccessary for the remmission of sin? Doesnt jibe too well with " Love Thy Neighbor"or " Thou shalt not kill", does it?I dare say Christian fundamentalism and extremism has been far more damaging to the human race than any other force on Earth. You have destroyed nations, entire peoples and cultures, ancient knowledge, which was the birthright of us all, and for what? to spread the "word" about a god that hasnt been in the nieghborhood for over 2000 years. Since you quote an old testament god, ask the Cathars what they think about the "remission of sin". You can't, because the church wiped them out, men, women and children ,in a wholesale slaughter, called the Albigensian Crusade. Now theres a word that keeps popping up. You might know the extent to which it means, but I doubt it. And thats just one example.
Take a good look around at the misery caused by your religion, as well as a few others. People are suffering based on some fools interpretation of words and ideas lost for a very long time. I'm paraphrasing, but it was written " They that have eyes to see, shall see. They that have eyes to hear, will hear" . And the churches have been making damn sure, for a very long time, that you dont do either. The two worst things ever invented by man was religion and money ( and thats a rant for another time )
As for John's nail, I think its someplace more appropriate. And as for the "return", you better hope its not the original god that shows up, 'cause she's gonna be pi$$ed!

RE: Brian

Hi Paul,
I must say I disagree with your position, but I noticed you offered no solutions only criticism. I'm well aware of the evils committed by the church and offer no excuses. As long as God allows freedom to exist, there will be evil in the world, both in the church and without. Man can't live with himself knowing he's a sinner, so he first must convince himself that his sin really isn't sin after all. Then he can put a halo around his evil and feel good about his atrocities. They did it during the Inquisition and Crusades, people still do it today. As bad as the Crusades were, and don't get me wrong they were pure evil, they were nothing compared to what has transpired since Darwin published Origin of Species. Atheism has been responsible for more people being slaughtered since 1900 than every war ever fought in the history of the world combined, up until that time. Since 1900 hundred can you list any evils perpetrated by Christians that rival the atheist's dismal record? BTW God reserves the harshest judgment for church folk that justify their evil rather than turn from it. Cheers
