Tim,that's an '04 right? The Z1000 I'm hopefully getting is an '03.Love those leftovers!I've been considering an R1 or GSXR1000 but I just can't ride those machines anymore.Too much pain.I'll hold onto my 1986 GSXR1100 for when I need to torture myself.

And that must have been a tough choice.600's are really nuts these days and it's a tight class.Everyone makes a damn good 600.What made you go for the Kawi?

I have owned 2 Suzuki's - Katana 600'sI have owned 1 Honda - My current CBR600F3I raced 1 Yamaha for 2 years - FZR600My dream bike would either be the Honda RC51 or a Kawi ZX-9RHowever ... the insurance on either of those bikes would force me to cut back on alot of other things I like doing. Like Eating and paying my mortgage ! Actually it's not that bad, BUT if I can save 600 bucks a year on insurance and still be just as happy, I figured I'd go with another 600.This one will probably last me 4 years then I'll move up to somthing bigger.
As for the "why" on the Kawi. I have always been a HUGE Kawi fanBUTI did alot of reading on the 4 bikes for 2004 and the Kawasaki seemed to be the best fit for me.ANDI really like the orange as well !!A little less girly than my current purple and yellow machine. Well, I HAD a 1978 Honda Goldwing GL1000. With Timbo and his crotch rockets, he can have em. I learned, ya get a quick thrill with those, kinda like those in ya pay for on street corners late at night Women like a smooth ride, my father threw out his back a year ago, and his pride and joy laid to rest so he thought. He was gonna sell it. Ummmmm no, son's get involved and say, dad, yer forgetting blood here. I want the 1984 Goldwing Limited Edition. So, gotta take a trip north.Tim, bit of advice........read top paragraph..........good women like smooth rides not quick bumps in the night Jon

RE: Now that spring is almost here....

I prefer choppers myself (don't think I'll ever be able to afford one), although some of those bikes you guys have do look pretty sweet. I like the chrome, paint jobs, and thundering roar of the engines that choppers have. I would have to say that my favorite builder is Billy Lane. He combines old school design with innovative styling cues very well.

Nice Duck,Nalle!I also appreciate the torque curve of a good V-Twin.The Suzuki SV1000 is also high on my list. But,there's no replacement for displacement. Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration.......
