MythBuster's warning – image 1

Has the MythBusters crew been sued by parents who kids been watching the show? Because at the beginning the warning was like this"Please don't try this at home"then it went to "Please don't try this at home, we're what you call experts, we have years of experience that keeps us safe."Last night on their Christmas espisode it was like this "Give us a break, don't try this at home." Did the MythBuster crew get sued?

I think it's just a warning to prevent getting sued. If they do gt sued, "Jimmy had his friend call him at the Gas Station, and it exploded!" Discover Networks can just say, "Hey, don't say we didn't warn you!"

They always did that. I remember that a long time ago. I always thought it was funny where Adam says "we're what you call 'experts'"

RE: MythBuster's warning.

Personally, I don't think they need to waste any of the show's time by showing the disclaimer. It's common sense not to try this kind of stuff in the comfort of your own home. The mythbusters have a professinal safety crew and take every precaution before performing even the most seemingly harmless experiments. If you're dumb enough to, let's say, fill a tree trunk up with a crapload of gunpowder and light the fuse while you stand next to it, then you're dumb enough to deserve the consequences. And parents should be responsible for teaching thier kids not to do anything dangerous either. The time that is wasted showing these disclaimers can be better used to bust an additional myth on the show!

RE: MythBuster's warning.

It seems common sense is no longer a popular thing. Once I heard a story about a woman who got a coffee somewhere, spilt it on herself and sued the coffee place because the cup did not say the contents were hot... Give Me a Break!

Well what I am trying to point out is that the last disclaimer had Jamie saying "Give us a Break...."That why I asked if the MythBusters were getting sued.

Sean
More than likely the hosts response to network lawyers making the disclaimer tighter and tighter but remember MTV was getting sued and critized for Bevis and Butthead after kids started burning things down(like kids never played with matches prior to B&B)Gary S

They're probably just having fun with it. Think about that for a second. Doesn't it make more sense now?MythBuster's warning – image 8"The F59PHI and Genesis are the lamest excuses for locomotives Amtrak has ever operated - accept it and move on.
