Symantic Live Update – image 1

Found this little gem on my computer. Well, actually, LivReg (Symantic Corp) and LiveUpdate (Symantic Corp) It's always running when I send an Email now, never saw it befor,e an dit's causing my PC to be REALLY friggin' slow. Anyway care to tell what this thing is, and if it's a Work or SpyWare, AND if it would be safe to remove it?
