I hate "truth" ads

Ok first off I would like to say that yes my opinion is biased because I do have family that works for Phillips Morris in their Concord, NC plant. BUT, I think I have a good argument. Is it me or are those Truth Ads really starting to get annoying? I mean jeez, they drag out someone who had a realitive that died from cancer due to smoking. Its time for the REAL Truth, not this crap that they peddle out. Guess what you idiots, these smokers CHOOSE to smoke. They chose to smoke everytime they light one up. Now I did loose my grandpa to smoking, and I miss him. But I don't go around blaming tobacco companies for his death. He knew and I know that it was HIS choice to smoke. Look theres a time to blame the company, and then there are time to blame the people. If Ford makes an unsafe car, and it kills a few people. Blame Ford. BUT If Phillips Morris makes cigarette and sell them to store, which in turn sells them to customer, blame the people. I don't see tobacco companies going around shoving their product down your throat. The people of "Truth" need to either realize that people should be held for their action, or SHUT UP! Agree with you on this one. If you smoke, it's your choice. But it's also your life and your health you're ruining in the long run.

One of the best parts of this "Truth" ad campaign is the amount of "Graffiti ads" they use.I see "Truth" in the same font used on the commercials spray painted all over the place in Northern NJ.On traffic signs and walls.

Count me in the "oh shut the F*** up" column as well.
When the Truth ads started they had some clever spots about how tobaco companies kill their own customers(the Splode soda with the exploding soda can comes to mind) but then they went off on the current "we're so much holier than thou" attitude painting smokers as just these poor morons dupped into smoking by evil big tobaco.
I do sometimes just want to beyach slap these smug little weenies and scream(Sam Kinneson style)in their faces "WHAT PART OF "IT'S MY F***ING DECISION" DON"T YOU F***ING UNDERSTAND A$$HOLE!!!"Gary S

The truth ads dont bother me. What bothers me is how people blame ciggerette companies for everything. The biggest complaint I have is that people said that Winston in NASCAR was wrong. Winston did more then Nextel will ever do and was the best thing to happen to NASCAR. And some whiners took that away. Well, thats my 2 cents on ciggerettes.

And how many people seriously knew that the "Winston" in "Winston Cup Racing" was the same Winston that makes cigarettes?I put my name down at the Winston booth to enter a contest back when it was still Winston Cup, loved it, won something, never bothered again. Did the same thing for Nextel in Bristol recenty and they won't leave me alone! Every other day there's a new email from Nextel about new phones or service plans....Maybe Winston was a cigarette company, BUT they weren't always in my face trying to get me to buy something.EDIT: Sigh, Speak of the devil....

I Totally agree. I notice this same kind of garbage everywhere else too. What also annoys me is the people who whine about some donations of cigarettes to troops in Iraq. I think they are working hard and they deserve it, it's not up to some strangers to tell them they can't smoke.
